I've finally decided to get my lip pierced (after a year of contemplation)! I want to do it, hoefully over the christmas holidays, but prior to doing it, I have a question.
I have my final orthodontal appointment in mid january. Braces are already off but they need to assess the wisdom teeth. If the orthodontist decides i need them out, it wont be until February i get the appointment. Would the lip ring be in the way of any sort of dental procedure, because if so, im willing to wait a bit longer, or, if i do get it during the holidays, would it be allright to take it out for dental work??
Thanks,
Kelly

Maybe not.

Drawn from personal experience, Dentists (or orthodontists) don't like even semi-oral piercings to begin with.. but that's not the issue here.... Personally, I asked my dentist if the rings would be in the way and he said "Probably not, but a stud (he has no idea what a "Labret" is.. hehe) would be better and easier for me to work around.

So.. that's my dentist's advice... as far as taking it out after 2 months... you could PROBABLY get away with it for a couple of hours, but it would be better if you had something in there.
