I want to get my tongue pierced...but a bit differently. I've seen one picture and I'm not sure where saw it...the girl had her tongue pierced horizantally, so when she stuck out her tongue..both balls were on the top of her tongue. Since seeing that picture, I have never heard of anyone getting it pierced like that, but I am very intrigued...anyone have any insites (sp?) on this...I'm been thinking nonstop of how they could actually pierce like that...and what the healing would be...if it even would be any different...thanks!!!

It may have been www.bmezine.com that you saw it on. I think they look really neat, but I would be worried about it hindering the movement of the tongue

I just went there..cant find it...I saw the horizontal pics they had there.....but this girl, the balls were on TOP of the tongue, where you normally see only one......those pics...the balls were at the side.....

Hmmmm... I am assuming it was pierced with a surface bar or a curved bar. have you tried searching google for 'horizontal tongue piercings'?

Could you possibly be thinking about viper piercings? A viper piercing is simply two vertical piercings, each performed on either side of the tongue.

In my opinion, a surface piercing on the tongue would be a very dangerous piercing. There would be a high risk of severing major blood vessels as well as nerve bundles.

I think the one in the pic is actually 2 venoms, because there's another BME pic that someone recently linked that has the same jewelry and placement on a girl with venoms.

Honestly think it would hinder alot of movements for the tongue and would be very tricky to speak correctly with..But it looks neat none the less

Horizontal tongue piercings can cause some pretty serious speech impediments......

Thats it!!!!!! Thats what I want...I guess I just gotta go to my piercer and talk to them about it!! The talking thing is a big consideration...my boss from the radio station just called me....they want me to start doing morning news and traffic!!! (Sorry, off topic, but I just found out!!) If you are going to be doing news on the radio etc. Then I would strongly advice agains't this piercing.. The way it looks to me it would have a permant speach imparement for you for as long as the barbell is in.. Your tounge just wont be able to move right with the barbell placed like that

Yeah...cept part of the reason why I was even looking at the horizontal piercing is because my best friend has her tongue pierced (only piercing besides navel..she wont get anything else done) and threw a major bitch fest when I mentioned I would get my tongue pierced also. I want to get my tongue pierced....but to keep peace, was looking at something "different" to do...then she couldnt claim I was "copying" her..the Viper look is definately a thought....would anyone know...get them pierced together or separate? What would be best for healing, etc? Thanks once again.....

Thank you very much :p They love all my piercings at the station...I'm the only one with anything "radical" done...I'm ever the source of the amusement there...I can only imagine if I get my tongue pierced twice!! Hehehehehehe.

Yeah I know....but I'm such a nice person (hahahahahah) I will keep peace...I talked to my piercer today...what I will get done, two tongue piercings (separate) and once they both fully heal, they will custom make me ONE barbell, with a U shape to it, to connect the piercings. So I will have the two balls on top!! Yeha!!!!!
