I feel the same way about cbr. When I can avoid them I do just because I like the look of barbells a lot more. I had my nipple done with a barbell and I've had it for over 5 and a half years, no problems. Now, granted I can't see your nipple so I don't know if there is a reason your piercer would want to use a cbr instead of a barbell but an easy way to solve that is to ask your piercer. However, under normal circumstances, there should be NO reason to push you to do it with a cbr.
