Bastards. I paid my bill first of the month as always. Im on a bill with my bro so if one of us doesnt pay both phones get cut off. Well three weeks ago mine got shut off. I assumed my bro didnt pay his bill, no biggie. Time went by and I got frustrated and bought a pre paid for 30 bucks. Fast forward to today, ive spent 30 more bucks, for a total of 90, for more minuets.

At this point Im royally pissed at my bro but cant call to bitch because I have to go to work. My mom decided to do my dirty work and call him. So I get a phone call at work, and heres where I get pissed.


My brother paid his bill the same day I did. Thats right the bill was never past due. Whats more his was never disconnected. Those ****ers disconnected my phone in error and im out 90 bucks because of it.

You may ask why I didnt call to see if he had paid it. Well it has happened before so it wasnt anything new and I assumed that it would get paid within a day or two like in the past. Also, my brother doesnt answer numbers he doesnt know ( my prepaid) and our schedules conflict, so we generally communicat via text. Yes, I could have avoided this by calling to bitch at him earlier but i didnt want to do that ( huge soft spot for bro).

Any who. **** Tmobile. Thats bull****. they need to get their **** together. :angry: :angry: :angry:

That's wierd. I had Tmobile and they took really good care of me. I now have Sprint ands ay the same things about them that you do about T Mobile.

really?? I hate them. Their associates and customer care people are dicks, coverage sucks, I always have trouble with my messaging and can never get help when I have an issue and now this.

yeah, i've never had issues with tmobile - except for the fact that i dind't pay my bill for 3 months :p

DO you use the 800# or go into the store? I didn't go into the store except to pay my bill. I never had trouble with the 800#. I get good service from Sprint because I know their lobbyist. I use to work with the chair of one the committee that has oversight of their industry. I'd recommend Verizon if I had it to do all over again. T mobile and Verizon consistently get the highest scores in JD Powers for service. Cingular or whatever the hell they're calling themselves is the lowest.

I have Verizon and am pretty happy.

I've had Sprint and didn't like them at all. Customer service was poor and I had alot of dropped calls. I now have Verizon and I love it. Customer service is top notch and the coverage is excellent. Pricing is decent too, especially when you get a large discount from your work.

ETA: Free Verizon to Verizon calling FTW! :p

Both, maybe i just always catch people on bad days. BUt i know one time when my texts werent sending I went to the store hoping it was a simple trick to the phone. The girl turned it off, then on said i dont know sorry and then answered her own phone and walked off.

I have Tmobile. I love them! I always get good customer service when I call. They have always worked with us too. We've been with them for over 2 years now.

It sucks you are having this problem with them. I really like them.

I don't know if you can do this on verzion on Sprint you can get their cheap ass phone and get insurance on it. Then buy something fancier off of ebay and have it activated on your acct. Sprint won't don;t that for a phone off the street. If you can buy your phone outright that's even better. You can then usually avoid having to sign a contract. Verizon and T mobile are better about that that Sprint and Cingular. I would avoid signing a contract if you can at all.

I have nTelos. Runs on the Sprint network (which is good, at least where I live) and is by far the cheapest service around.

That really sucks Blazing. I've had T-Mobile for about two years and I have never had a problem with them. The only complaint I have is that I have no service at work, and ****ty service at home. Everywhere else it works fine..

You're out 90 bucks for all of the reasons you listed in the paragraph following. Sure you can share in the responsibility, no?

If you are an authorized user, you should be able to call in, verify the account and get a quick answer regarding the account's status and if it was suspended for non-payment.

Before I spent $90, regardless, I would make a 5 minute call to check. The reasons listed don't justify three weeks worth of waiting and $90 spent to rectify a situation you had not taken the time to clarify.

There are isolated issues, such as this, that happen with any company of substantial size.....

Pr0s does have valid points.. you said that he hasn't paid his bill before, but that it usually doesn't go past a few days, so why didn't you check after that?

We've had Sprint since 2000 and never had any problems with them I would go with the company that has the best coverage in *your* area.

I have AT&T/Cingular and I've never had an issue with them. They are always very nice at t6he 800 number. I had to go with them because they are the only ones who had coverage out where I live.

I wouldnt have added in that part after if i didt realize this was partly my fault, it clearly places some of this on me.


I didnt just call Tmobile because I am not an authorized user, both phones are in my brothers name. As far as they know he has two phones.

The account is password protected, anyone wanting info needs to know the password as well as my brothers social. I dont have that information. I tried to call them before on something like this. When the associate picked up the line she asked for that info I didnt have it she couldnt talk to me .

Also, everytime I tried to use my phone to call out it would ring twice and then I would get this message: *Tmobile Jingle* Your account balance is past due please stay on the line and the next available blah blah blah'

I know this is the dumbest reason ever, but I didnt call my brother out on it because he saved my ass by getting me on his contract. Then, I extended the contract last year. So I know I could have gone else where awhile ago and honestly I didnt want to call and get in an arguement with my brother.

I am aware that this is partly my fault, I also know this is not the first time ive had trouble with them.

Utility service should be seamless, and painless. If I, the customer, do my part, and pay my bills on time, service should continue, unchanged, and uninterrupted.

If I have to call the vendor, and spend my time fighting my way through a matrix of voicemail prompts, only to get a customer service rep who barely speaks English, trying to straighten out the vendor's mistakes, I'm gonna be pissed, whether it gets resolved promptly, or not. In my experience, one call is rarely sufficient.

$hit happens, but it shouldn't, and in any well-run organization, it's a rarity.

That's the thing Bash. I miss having T-Mobile. I never and I mean never had any trouble with them that didn't get resolved in a single phone call to their 800#. The people in the retail store were a whole different matter.

I hear you, but my point was this: I shouldn't have to make the call in the first place. I don't want problems, I want phone service.

In a manner of speaking, we have only ourselves to blame, because somewhere along the line, we quit demanding/expecting to be treated like valued customers, and accepted a new role, as supplicants. WTF?

I have had Cingular since 2000 and the only problem I ever have is when they are linking more towers to the network and sometimes your messages will send multiple times. In my area we have Cingular, Verizon, Sprint and Tmobile as the main carriers.

I hate how Verizon doesn't use a SIM card. If you damage your phone mechanically you lose all your info. I can drop mine in the toilet and still retrieve the info off of my SIM card. Also, the other companies seem to have a lot of random fees - like charging $20 for you to change your primary phone to something other than what you got on that contract. Lamesauce! Cingular was also the only provider that got reception in my old apartment or in my ex's apartment.

Just depends on the region.

I'm on Cingular/AT&T and I love it. I've called customer service tons of times and I have only had one bad experience, which was resolved by going into the actual store and talking to someone. I broke 4 phones in one year and they just kept sending me new ones for free because it was under warrenty... great company! haha

Ok, clear about the no access part I take back what I said.. but I don't see how asking your brother if he has paid would raise an argument? You were curious, you needed to know and were expecting an important phone call? He doesn't recognize the #? Leave a voicemail

I love T mobile. I have never had a problem with them. Every time I have called and dealt with an issue it was the most painless thing ever!

He has stuff going on in his life and this was all going on right around his birthday. Being that I was running on the assumption that it was unpaid, I knew it was not going to be a smooth conversation. I finally decided I didnt care last night and thats when I found all this out.


Its all straightened out now.Bro called and confirmed that the account was in good standing and they told him to take the phone to a store.

That forced him to give me the password ( Im sure he will change it again but I know it for now). The guy at the store, unlike others in the past, was super nice. He literally spent about an hour trying to fix it. In the end, he replaced my sim chip ( thats the second one in a month that Ive had). And it was all fixed.


Then he told me to call customer service to get a credit for the time it was disconnected. An hour later, I was finally transfered to a supervisor. He ended up crediting me half the amount of the bill for the next one thats due. So all is well, I just need to use up the minuets on the pre paid, or sell it to someone, or something.

I've never used a pre-paid so I don't know the technical parts of it, but you could use it as a backup phone.. maybe keep it in your car in case of an emergency when you just happen to not have your other phone

You could post the pre-paid #, and we could all give you a ringy dingy.

Well what ever min I dont use will expire in August, but I may keep it around until then. Unless someone really wants the number
