I think everyone is pretty clear on what needs to be tagged NSFW. Recently, there have been several links posted that go to porn sites or hosting sites of questionable content. This does raise new concerns for members who open such links.

Some of these sites trigger a flood of popups and can contain some shady scripts or other things that people are not equipped to handle on their computers. In the best interest of those who do not want to tempt the fates and try to avoid such sites for security reasons, please tag anything porn related as such.

Use *NSFW* as we have in the past for any off color humor or just plain disgusting things that we don't want on our screens at work or in the company of others do not appreciate it.

Use *NSFW Porn* for any links to Porn or hosting sites that fall into that category.

If anyone wants to suggest filters or pop-up blockers for those folks less computer literate, you can do so here.

ETA- from the mod-ly standpoint, this is not directed at any one member, it's just something that has been bantered about in the mod forum, and we're trying to find a solution that allows people to post (linked!) what they want, while allowing other users who don't want foul scripts or popups to be able to decline visiting that site.

I have a good pop up blocker, which I'm sure was free

I like AVG for antivirus software.

And Ad-Aware is the pop up blocker.

we dont need people accidentally getting pop ups or cookies on computers that are not properly protected ...

I just like the fact that I'm a member of a community that is more offended by pop-ups than by nudity....

I love Ad Aware for spyware and avast! for anti-virus. Both are free.

I'm on Sophos for anti-virus I believe, which I don't think is free, but is very good. I don't know about the spyware thing. Perhaps I should ask my stepdad! Just the internet explorer pop up blocker does me fine.

Popup blockers are the shnizz and all that. Consequently, a lot of web gurus are trying to find ways to get around them.

Anyone so hot and bothered as to post with a porn link can at least have the decency to include 4 letters in the title: pRoN.
