My tongue piercing is 5 days old now, and I've been taking care of it by the book. Brushing my teeth 3 times a day, Gly-Oxide twice a day, Biotene after everything that goes in my mouth besides water and ice. No dairy, spicy foods etc. My piercer didn't think that the sea salt soaks were any better or worse, so I didn't use them the first few days, but I did start them last night. My question I guess is this: I have this peach colored fleshy looking flap of skin right in front of my ball on the top of tongue. I called my piercer to ask him what he thought it was, and what if anything I could do about it, and he said it was probably just scar tissue, and to increase the Gly-Oxide by once or twice more a day. Whatever it is, it doesn't hurt, and its spongy. If this is scar tissue, should I expect it to get larger? In my opinion, it is pretty large now, and I would hate for it to get even bigger. Is there anything I can do besides increasing the Gly-Oxide, by from what I've read, using too much can strip the good bacteria off of my tongue and increase the risk for thrush?
TIA
