My 4 week old labret stud with a metal back was changed to a CBR 2 days ago, and the bump caused by the stud seems to have gotten bigger. I was given the impression that a hoop would give it some space to heal a little since the flat back wouldnt be holding it in. The bump is sore, white, and kind of deformed...and it rubs up against my teeth and hurts... I still do the whole listerine/water and sea salt soak procedure but the bump hasnt shown any progress...anybody know if this type of thing is normal, or if theres something funky going on with mine? Someone told me it was just my skin growing back, but I'd rather get you guys's input on it because you guys know what your talking about more then my friends (heh) cool

The inside of the lip has to callous and toughen up. Most people find that it gets used to the jewelry eventually.

Listerine? Yuck! Isn't that harsh? FYI: Diluting listerine with water does relieve some of the harshness, but it also gets rid of the good effects of Thymol. It really would be better if you just used salt water to rinse. And if you MUST use a mouth wash, try Biotene, Rembrandt or Tech2000 (also available here).
