I have bubbles on both my anti and tragus, my tragus's bubble is red, like blood filled and the one on my anti-tragus is red around the edges and then white, it's also huge, I keep doing hot water sea salt soaks and now the one on my anti-trages has turned somewhat all red instead of white, I did put a little tea tree oil(only once) on my anti, but it didn't help so I don't use it anymore, I don't want this to be a repetive topic but I'm pretty scared about the one on my anti, any other suggestions that would make this go away, I know someone said peroxide, but ouch that would seem scary putting it around my piercing. I could also scan a pic in if anyone wants to see the bumps. Also what causes this bubbles to form?? Thanks for any responses/suggestions! smile

These are usually called Follicular Cysts. They are basically pimples, ingrown hairs, that sort fo thing.

Hot compresses help bring them to a head and then when they begin draining, H.Peroxide can really help dry them up quickly.

Some people get these cysts more often than others. Once you have one, you can expect to have them reappear throughout the healing period.

So, completely dumb question that I think I know the answer to...

Do you wait for them to drain themselves, or is it okay to "pop" them once they've come to a head?

I have them too frown

Poping them can force the infection deeper into the skin or into the piercing. So it's better to let them drain on their own.
