I have had so many jewellery problems with my almost 5 month old navel piercing that's it's not even funny!
I finally have an appropriately sized 5/16 curved bar in but the CBR I had in previously caused some damage.
At the top hole, there is some puffy, raised skin (scar tissue??) that extends out about maybe 1 or 2 mm from the hole. It doesn't seem to be getting any bigger, and does look a lot better after a good salt soak, could it be a keloid?

Oh!
I forgot to add that the other day (Friday) it oozed a bit of white milky fluid - I figured infection but it hasn't done any further oozing since that one time...could it have been a mild infection or could this puffed bit be a pocket of fluid?

In the absence of other signs of infection, it might have just been some dead skin and sebum, not puss. Keep an eye on it.

Getting changed to a curved bar that fits well was probably the single best thing you could have done. I suspect your piercing will continue to get better and better, especially if you keep up the soaks.

Keloid tissue can go away by itself...but it might not. Hypertrophic scarring usually does go away by itself once the irritation is relieved. Either way, there's not a lot you can do until it's completely healed. So hold tight and time will tell.

Thanks a lot! laugh
I'm more at ease now and I'll keep a close eye on my tummy.
