I'm so happy! My copperhead ate for the first time today! I've had him since last fall and he never would eat the rodents I offered him so today I offered an anole and he took it right away!! YAY!!

Ok... So maybe you have to be a reptile person to find this exciting but I thought I'd share. It's the most exciting thing that's happened in my life lately. :rolleyes:

I am definatly a reptile lover...and snakes are my favorit...but why a copperhead?! Congrats anyway!

Well, since I plan on pursuing a career in zoo keeping I need experience with venomous species. But mainly because I like them. It's a very pretty snake. :p

Don't worry, I'm being trained by a professional.

Snakes are cool......( too true they are cold blooded ). But only one venomous kind native to these shores.

But he's just been caught taking money off Saddam!

thats good that he ate. I have a hogg island boa that is a problem feeder and when he finally started eating consistantly I was the proudest "father" on the block. If I could get a hot snake it would probably be a Gaboon viper. one of the prettiest snakes in my book

I used to hunt for snakes as a kid. I don't know what happened since then, but now they scare the bejesus out of me.

Thanks for the enthusiasm folks! Most of the people I talk to about my reptiles are like "Oh, umm... That's nice..." :rolleyes: So it's nice to see other people that like snakes.

And Ryan, Gaboons are very pretty. We have two of them at the zoo I work for. A very beautiful exhibit animal.

lol, i'm personally not afraid of snakes in the least bit.

i just thought that was why pros doesn't play with snakes anymore (although i heard he ws quite the snake charmer )
