Better yet, buy an inexpensive plastic micrometer...handier than a ruler, and you'll find a million uses for it.

I've got a pair of plastic calipers in my wood shop, but I was too lazy to go out into the cold to get it, haha.

Actually, all is well. I think the larger diameter earrings are better for me at the moment because my ears haven't completely healed (I suspect poor metal quality of my CBBs). I've got a pair of black niobium CBRs with hematite beads on the way.

Hasn't happened to me re: something I've paid for (knock on wood). But I can imagine the frustration. I really can. Which is why I keep my gauge/measurements card at my computer. And in my wallet. And in my backpack. And in 2 of my jewelry boxes.

Yes, I'm loving the card that came with my tribalectic order. I've already used the gauge figures to measure the gauge of my sister's monroe labret.

But like I said, I'm actually glad I misordered because I think the larger diameter will help my lobes finally heal completely. Besides, it was only a $15 screw up.
