Before I place my order at an online jewelry website..... Which size CBR's should I order???? My nipples were pierced with 14g 1/2 inch straight barbells. I've been to my Piercing Shop, the Mall (The Bead Station), Wal-Mart, Hot Topics & Claire's. And I've decided to use a couple of online stores to buy my 1st jewelry. I'm thinking my best bet would be to order 316LVM (Implantable Grade) jewelry for my safety and well being. So come one, come all!!! Give me your input....cause the order is gonna go in by at least Friday!!!! Sweet Tater

Alright, there you go!
Usually, 5/8" rings are a good size for female nipples, but I really can't judge unless I see them. :p
1/2" seems a bit tiny.
Anyhow, the key to measuring for jewelry for nipples is: Look at the nipple. Determine about what size/diameter your nipple is. Choose about two sizes up from that. This is what I use, anyway, and it usually ends up being pretty successful.

Ahhhh YES, a Photo!! lol I wish I could put one on here....but with me using a Webtv (Computer died back in July) as a back-up internet source I don't have the ability to put pics on any website, group, so on and so forth. But the little bit of info you've given me has been benificial! I was actually thinking of a 9/16" size, but wasn't sure if that was enough?! Of course, I don't want the gem/picture ball to sit right under my nipple.....but I don't want it to hang down too far, either. You know what I mean......just the other day you had a post about everything being symmetrical. So now you understand my concern about which size to get?!

Yes, yes I do.
And my nipple jewelry is insanely asymmetrical in comparison to the rest of my jewelry.
Such is life, such is life.
It's stillpretty. :>

I got my nips pierced a little over a week ago with CBR's and what my piercer told me was, you want the nipple to go like this...first nipple, then the ball should be in the middle of the nipple, and then the outside edge. So it all looks even... you dont want the ring to be almost at the edge, or way up on your nipple either. I got dont with a 1/2", but we were going to go with a 5/8" but one of my breasts is larger then the other, and he didnt want it to hang too low an get caught. It really depends on the size of your breasts, what looks better, and the size of the actual aerolar (sp)
Most people say the ring should only be 1/4 inside and the rest outside..right now I'd say my rings are a 1/3 inside the nipple, so a little on the small side, but still ok. Hope some of that helps, but....who knows. -Day

Thanks for the input, sweetdiego, I think I understand what you're saying.
I think I'm gonna go with 5/8" just keep it from being so snug. Plus that's a pretty common size. 9/16" might not be enough lea-way.

I always have trouble with fractions and visualizing distances. Holding a ruler up to your body part helps a lot (I'm sure you GUYS know this )

If you got pierced with 1/2" BBs you will probably be safe with 5/8" rings.

When i finally change mine Im going back to the piercer. He told me when he was measuring my nipples that they are larger then most (nthing wrong with that he said lol just had to use longer barbells then he normally piercers nipples with...*sigh* I feel like such a freak)So to be safe Im going to have him change it and tell me the size so then I can order some off the net.

I may catch some poo for this, but consider going with titanium, especially if you are planning on keeping the piercings for many many years.

Frogg...."Probably be safe with 5/8" rings"??? You're a piercer....that seemed a little bit unsure. Is it because you can't see them to be able to give me a definite answer?
MsJen.... I too am gonna go back to my piercer to have mine changed. And he'll autoclave it for me too. But they don't have what I want (in style). And the prices are way too much, when I can get the same stuff for 2/3 less off the internet!!!
Chuck.... Why do you suggest Titanium? Because it's so much lighter in weight? But Titanium fades.

I've had (good quality) titanium barbells in my nipples on and off since February. No fading yet.

The twisted barbell I wear in my cartilage piercing is almost 2 years old and there is no sign of fading. If Ti is colored by heating, how the heck would it fade anyhow?

It is my belief that steel jewelry, even the best implant grade stuff, will release enough nickel over extended periods (I'm talking decades here) that problems can begin to occur for the piercing. I should add this view is not shared by very many piercers (yet?).
Yes, titanium is lighter but that's probably not a concern unless you get into bigger gauges. Yes, *colored* titanium will fade over time; this is not the least bit dangerous, but you will end up with a different color than you paid for. Uncolored titanium will remain unchanged for as long as you own the jewelry...there is no need to get colored titanium, it is just an option.

Squeak....well I know you're glad of that. I just know that my VCH faded in less than a month. But that must be due to the moist area that it was in.
Bad KiTty.... I agree, seems like with the special heating process it "wouldn't" fade....but it does....partly because of where it's placed. (Moisture and Titanium cause fading)
Chuck.... You raise an interesting issue. I bet you're right too, about the nickel vs. time.
I've yet to see un-colored titanium. I was wondering if that was possible. Cause all I really want colored is the ball. I'll have to do somemore research on that. Thanks for the info.

Uncolored Ti is beautiful! EVERY piece I wear is uncolored Ti. As far as your jewelry goes, if you get a colored ball for nipples, it will be the first to fade. Especially if you wear lace bra's. Time does not fade colored Ti, friction does. My $.02

Daddy.... Hmmmmm, now you've really got me re-thinking this whole thing. I didn't mean to give out incorrect info on the Titanium fading. But that's what my piercer said about the fading-over-time. Of course that was for the VCH, so no clothing would be directly touching it. We (the piercer and I) haven't talked too much about the jewelry for my nips as of yet. *He's got this "Cocky" attitude, sometimes* He thinks that I'm waisting my time looking at things on the internet. Quoute: "You can't believe everything you read there"!!! End of Quote: Pisses me off cause sometimes I feel like he thinks I know "too" much and he "wants" me to be stupid about it all. *shakes head* I digress
