hey, im a noob here and i want to get my nipple pierced, im a male, and my nipple, well rather my areola is large...or like flat i dont know how to explain it. lol do you guys think it will look weird? any other info would be helpful.

I do not know what you are referring as being flat. You really do not want to be pierced through the areola, but through the actual nipple. If you have a piercer/shop that you are familiar with have them check to determine if the piercing can be done.

Should be able to be pierced, go to your local piercer and discuss it with them. Shouldnt be any problems. You would be getting the part sticking out pierced, not the whole areola itself.

If you're a guy then from what I've always been told, you don't actually get your nipple as such pierced, more like the bit just behind. All the piercers I've ever been to say nipple size doesn't matter for a guy in the vast majority of cases.

Think of it : female nipples have more substance to them generally (basically they're often bigger) whereas male nipples are a lot smaller. You can pierce a female nipple in the strict meaning of the word but not really a male one, which is why it's pierced just behind.

My nipples are pierced vertical and the piercing is at the base of the nipple where it hits the areola. The piercing is in the nipple and not in the areola at all.

Remember it's always different from person to person, i've got pencil eraser nipples. But I get what your saying.

A little blood from a new piercing is normal.

Remember to keep on with good after care, and to do sea salt soaks. . .

how do i do those? i mean in a woman they can just dip it in a cup. but a male? lol

How To Do Sea Salt Soaks

You can take something like a dixie cup, and just put it around your nipple, and it will create a little suction and the water will stay in the cup.

For a nipple a shot glass usually works fine for a sea salt soak. Do it regular until the piercing is healed. Another thihg, do not move the barbell around as it will slow down the healing process. It looks like the barbell is long enough to allow for cleaning of the crusties that probably will form there. Crusties, nice word for the normal oozing from any puncture wound.

yea but today it was bleeding alot..like i came home and it was basically stuck on my skin with blood...took me alot of moving around to get rid of all the dry blood. and alot of the salt **** haha. hopefully it only bleeds today and not tomorrow!

I had a heck of a time with my right nipple bleeding. It started bleeding 3 days after I got it done, and bleed pretty heavily (soaked a bandaid) for about a week. I'd be careful of moving it around too much in the process of getting the blood off in case you aggravate the piercing more. What I did was soaked for 10 minutes and, very gently, got as much blood off as I could without causing any pain.

If you have a problem with in continuing to bleed, try leaving it alone and letting it scab over (that was the advice given to me) and leave it for a week.

And for the love of god, get the other nipple pierced. :p

I used a shot glass with the sea salt solution in it when I was healing my nipple piercings. Should work just fine.

I use a shot glass to soak mine

I would soak min in a shotglass with warm anti-bacterial soap to loosen the crud, rinse the soap off and follow with a sea salt soak, also following with a rinse. This usually took care of the blood etc. build-up.

yea...mines bruising now kind of. lol looks like i got a huge purple nurple from someone. lets hope it goes away soon! the pain is less though and the bleeding is down to a minimum. its just purple around the piercing

nipple piercings suck in the beginning, but they are sooo worth it i promise


eta: please, for the love of god - watch out for seatbelts.

And watch out for towels too..

And binoculars with neck straps.

And door frames.

ooo door frames is a good one.. you don't realize how often you come in contact with one until you have your nipples pierced haha
