So I'm thinking about getting my ears pierced sometime soon. I don't know if I should go with the 10G horseshoes or just regular silver or black rings. I like how the horseshoes look on other people but I dunno if it would look right on me. My ear lobes are kinda big so I dunno if it would look right or not. Maybe I should just not even bother with my ears. Any suggestions or comments?

Where are you going to get the piercings done?

I wouldn't use any coloured or coated jewellery, through fear of irritating a healing piercing.

Make sure the piercer uses Titanium or Surgical Steel, if you want a metal.

I was just gonna go to Industrial Ink here in town. I was also gonna use black jewelry for my tongue webbing. Do you think it'll effect the healing process?

Well, you can't get "Black Titanium", it's coated, which IMO makes the idea of using Titanium pointless.

John Lopez knows more about metals than I do, he'd be the best person to ask.
But I've always thought that coloured metals should only be worn in healed piercings.

And if you DO get it in the future, coloured metals do fade with time.

I'll come back in a few minutes, just wanna check a couple things on BME for you.

ETA: Damn I can't find the article I was looking for, sorry.

Well I just got my ears done and I went with the 10 gauge circular barbells. I really like how they turned out even though they are reeeeally sore. That's what I get for starting out so big I guess. Thanks for the advice Kat!
