I'm just curious, a lot of people say that the second (left as opposed to right and vice versa) nipple piercing hurt more than the first. Anyone have any idea why this might be? Possibly because you know what's coming and you're expecting the pain? Do second lobes hurt more than the first too?

My second nipple piercing didn't hurt more than the first.

I don't have any speculations about why some say that the second is more painful. I just wanted to share that it's not always true.

When I got mine done the piercer asked me which I wanted done first. I said I don't know. She asked which hand I was dominate in (my right), so she said she'd do the right one first. Because supposedly, whichever is your dominate side is supposed to hurt more. Well in my case that wasn't true. My right one (which was th first one done) was nothing, it hurt, but it was maybe like a 3 on a 1-10 scale. The left one on the other hand, I jumped with that sucker. When I jumped I actually went to grab her elbow - she was leaning over me - of the arm that was pushing the needle through my nipple.lol. Not a smart idea.lol It was probably around an 8 or 9. That sucker HURT.

That said, this was my first time actually sitting through two piercings in one shot. Therefore, I can't really compare it to others in regards to whether or not the second one always hurts. I would likely blame it/ or chalk it up to adrenaline. After the first one your adrenaline has already jumped or in the process of jumping. You don't necessarily have that rush to cover the 'pain' so to speak. Whether that is true or not I have no idea. It could just be that you know what to expect, or think you do, and the next one is just more painful. It could also just be a difference in the level of sensitivity that each nipple has. That being that one is more sensitive than the other.

As corny as it sounds, I really wouldn't worry about it. Granted I was kind of freaking for the week beforehand. These were the one piercing that really scared me pain wise. I made it out ok - although according to my brother (he took me to get them done) I was white as a ghost afterwards.lol - and am happy with them. The pain is worth it. That's why my piercer back where I'm from always made her clients sit on their hands, lol

lol I was smart enough to stop before I actually did grab it.lol. Although I did tell her at the beginning that she needed to get some "Holy sh*t handles" on the bed thingy.lol

With my nipples was the first time I'd had a 2 sided piercing that one side didn't hurt more. I don't know why for sure. This time I had him start on the left side first. I am also right handed but my left side hurts worse.

Is there also a reason why one would need to lie down for the piercing? I wonder because I'm a D cup and the shape of my boob changes if I'm lying down so I'm concerned that that may make a difference in straightness of the piercing. Any experiences with that?

My piercer marked me standing and then I sat and he pierced them while I was upright.

I was standing when she marked me then laying down when she pierced me - both of them are straight.

Although one thing to keep in mind is that our bodies aren't perfect, so our boobs aren't either - they tend to differ in size, some more than others. That can also effect how the breast sits and I guess you could say how the nipple points and that. So they may not appear to look straight when looked at together, but separately they do... Does that make sense?

My second nip hurt more than the first. Both times I got them done (horizantal for the first set, and then vertical)

I read about it on a site that says, with things in pairs.....after the first is pierced, all your nerves and your body's attention goes to the pierced nip getting ready for a second 'attack'....which leads the next one vulnerable. So its not that it KNOWS whats coming, its that it DOESNT that makes it hurt more.

Anyways, with that said...I was always marked standing up, and pierced laying down. if they had tried to pierce me standing up, they'd be allllll screwed up. lol My big boobies just dont hang the same, one is evil and likes to be more droopy...damn thing!
