Fuzznose, i know of the sticker you mentioned at hot topic, and i love it too. i'm sitting there at the office w/my co-workers, and i guess they finally got the guts to ask me about my piercings. ok, so i showed them. and wouldn't you know.....every statement out of their mouth was something negative (not towards me personally, but still.....). like they all started expressing just how freaked out they really were.


.....you know, i go in one day to finally get my tongue pierced. then......4 mths later (and still going) i've 4 more piercings! and just when i think i've finally got this whole business, my piercer goes and mentions something else i never heard of, like i'm just constantly taking mental notes down of every thing he says.

Man, I know how you felt.

Most of the reactions I get to my piercings are negative, but I guess I've gotten used to it, and I remember that I get them for me, and not for anyone else.

Hey Exquisite... Don't worry what other's say dude... it's YOU that matters. I view my piercings as my own personal expressions and enjoy hearing people's opinions. The key thing to remember is that they're just that -- opinions.

Also, just curious about what piercings you have. I think everyone should list them in their profile but respect each individuals choice. I like to use them as a way to come up with new ideas for my own progression through the piercing world.

Also, just curious but might I inquire as to what "sticker" you're referring to?

I think the sticker that they're talking about say something like:

'You laugh at us because we are different, we laugh at you because you are all the same.'

Close enough. The sticker actually was singular, not plural, so it was

"You laugh at me because I am different. I laugh at you because you are all the same."

talk about coworkers and piercings... i have to wear a damn cover over my eyebrow cuz i work at a hospital with fuddy-duddy's for administration. they threatened to fire me because of just my eyebrow. and the worst part of it is all the patients i work with think it's stupid that i'm discriminated against. if it wasn't for the fact that i'm a supervisor it never would have been mentioned. i mean there are others running around with facial piercings, but they work in the kitchen and in housekeeping, so they aren't "a representitive of the type of people that northern michigan hospital will employ."

but ya know, screw them. they are old, unhappy and so damn anal i don't know how they can breath they will never know the freedom of eternal immaturity!

btw: i'm a girl. (tho i'm starting to wonder why so many people here initially think i'm a guy!)

ok: now about my piercings, and my 'profile'---i just updated my profile, and if you're too lazy to go look, here's what i have: daith, lobes (for my 8th birthday), double tongue piercing, and a naval. among the long-time healing ones, my daith's fine but my naval is.....still healing. i love my tongue the most i suppose cause it's the one i can feel the most. it's also the one that, when people ask and i show it to them, gets the most negative comments (like they'll start talking about "the others who are pierced" and they 'must' be some kind of loser or "just derranged." (i also think, because i'm a girl, they tend to say it in a 'nice way'. roflol)
