When you don't want them anymore, then it's fine to take them out.

Depends on what it is, and what gauge.

okay. well ill tell you the story. Ive recently gotten my industrial in (not the right name for it im guessing) and my parents are really starting to hate them, and want me to take some out. Now i was told that you shouldnt take out a piercing until it is healed. But then i recently heard that they can be taken out at anytime befoer its healed.

so i just want to get my facts straight.

Provided there is no infection present, it is alright to take it out anytime. Signs of infection include redness, being hot to the touch, green/yellow discharge. If it has pus that needs to drain, the jewelry keeps it open and allows such drainage to occur. But provided that there is no such infection, there should be no problem in removing it.

Are you taking it out to leave it out? If so, then that's no problem. If you are wanting to take it out and put it back in often then it can become very irritated. How about retainers? Have you checked on getting them?

It's not completely invisible but not as noticeable as the rest.

Cartilage piercings can take more than a year to heal. If you are hoping to take the piercings out AND keep them, you need to wait. If you want to take them out and let it close, then as long as there is no infection present, go for it.

Kind of a waste of money, no? How were the 'rents feeling about the indy before you got it?

well once i got my 10th piercings they didnt want me to get anymore, then i got my 2nd brow done. they were mad, and said they wouldve rather i gotten something in my ear instead. so 2 weeks later i went and got that done. and they were pissed...im thinkin they are just tired of me getting them. but i will continue to get them until i no longer want any. why? because "you have enough" isnt quite a good enuff answer for me =D

and no im not planningon taking any out, i just wanted to kno if it could be done without any trouble...
