The hole on the top of my naval piercing is kinda big-is that normal? It's not snug around the bar. It's about the size of the top ball. The rest of the hole appears to be the right size. I checked the bottom one and it's the size of the bar. Also, the top hole is red around it, but I'm assuming that's to be expected. It's not infected, so that's a good start. And not nearly as sore as it was the first couple of days. Also, I think I could feel the bar more when I woke up this morning. I can't see the bar through my skin and none of the bar is sticking out, so I don't think it's rejecting >knock on wood<. I was bloated when I had it done, so could losing a few pounds be the reason why? And what can I do about the hole? Thanks so much, I know it's a lot of questions, but I really don't want to lose this piercing!

Does it feel itchy or appear to look moist? What is the bb made from?

The barbell and balls is made of stainless surgical steel. I bought it at the shop I got pierced at, and they are really picky about what they use. The hole is moist, it's got that lovely white goop in it. Not itchy, though. I sleep on my stomach-could I have pushed the ball into it and stretched the hole? Oops!

I don't know. I suppose it could happen. However, I sleep on my stomach every night & I never had that happen to me.

The first thing that comes to mind is a metal allergy. Are you seeing any clear fluid coming from it, or just the lymph? How long has it been pierced? Can you post a pic of it? It would be helpful.

No, just the white stuff. It doesn't even come out or anything-it just sits in the whole. Don't metal allergys cause pain and discomfort? My ears are sensitive to nickel and stuff, and they get irritated if I wear earrings with nickel for to long. This doesn't hurt or anything. Or do they start out like this? Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it! Oh, yeah, I had it done last Wed, so six days. No, I can't post a pic right now, I can't get a good pic-camera's kinda screwy.

Well, ok, camera's not screwy, I just can't get a clear picture with this lighting. I'll keep trying, though.

I can't say for sure if it hurts & whatnot, because I've never had a metal allergy before. If you say you are allergic to ss in your ears, I would venture to guess that you can have the same reaction elsewhere on your body. Maybe someone who's had one can better fill you in. Right now I'm just trying to narrow it down.

You're very welcome. I'm just sorry I couldn't be of more help.

That's ok! You were helpful. I asked the piercer about the metal, though, and explained to her that my ears were sensitive. She told me that there is a very, very low amount of nickel in the sss they use. Also, I had my eyebrow done there with the jewelery they use and had no problems. I'm just hoping it's not a metal allergy, because I really like this barbell and titanium is pricey.

I went my piercer in Saturday, and got it taken care of. She switched it to a longer bar and put the larger ball on the top, so the smaller one wouldn't sink in it. It's just plain silver balls instead of my pretty red jeweled ones, but I was at the point I did not care. It feels so much better. I kept having to pop the ball out of hole-OUCH. It seems to be healing up. Good news is it's not rejecting or infected!
