Is it possible to punch a tounge piercing to jump into larger gauges? like punch at a 2 stretch to 0 immediatly? or do you have to scalpel to a 2 then stretch to a 0?
anyone know someone who has done this?

I think you would have to scalpel rather than punch just because of the veins and artery in the tongue. A punch might be too big and hit one of the viens or artery, and you can control where your cutting more with a scalpel, avoiding the artery.

Just a guess though?. . .

I don't think you would want to dermal punch a tongue piercing. What kevo said makes sense.
You could get it pierced at 6 gauge and get it stretched right away to 4 gauge though
I got mine pierced at 8 and stretched to 6, because the 6 gauge needle scares me lol.
All my stretches have been pretty easy.. until I got to this damn 0 gauge one that doesn't seem to be happening. I've gotten to the point where I can almost pull the jewelry out of my tongue (with the balls on the barbell) but still can't get the 0ga taper in :rolleyes:

Do they not make 4g needles? I thought I heard that that was as far as they went. Hmmm.

They *do* make a dermal punch for smaller gauges.. I know some use it to do the punch and taper method for microdermals, so the punch would have to be around 14g.. just a fyi, not saying to do it that way

yes they do indeed make 4 gauge needles, my sister and friend both had thier lobes pierced at 4 gauge...

That needle was pretty big lol.
