Our bodies are not perfectly symmestrical, most navel piercings are not either.
If he marks you when you are not standing that could be it too, your body sitting or laying down situates your stomach differently than when standing.
Most navels, despite how straight they start out tend to migrate into a more comfotrable position for your body and come to rest there.
