Or would it be possible to get a microdermal in its place?

I'm going to start stretching my ears.
Except I'm quite impatient, and they're quite not stretchy (as in, can't even get 1.6mm in at the moment). They're not going to close up (bloody guns) but can I get them repierced anyway? Or is that just the worst idea ever.

I could get the microdermal, I already spoke to my piercers about it, but I don't wanna risk having a tough removal and it needing to be cut out... not right there above my lip.

I wore PTFE in it last time, and it still caused some recession. It seemed to be pierced at a weird angle, so the labret didn't lie flush with my mouth, but at an angle so the edge of the flatback cut into my gums.

I asked a piercer about this and if you can find one that is willing to, you *could* get it pierced/repierced at a higher gauge

Is it unlikely that they'd want to though? I know it's quite lazy of me to just get pierced bigger, but my ears are SO unstretchy I need as much of a headstart as I can get.

To be honest, other than knowing there are piercers out there that would.. I am not sure how many out there would actually do it. Maybe call around and say you've talk to someone and they recommended?

I can understand about the non-stretchy part, nothing wrong with trying to figure out all your options

Just out of curiosity (and also because Alka's got me staring at my earlobes with a magnifying glass), why wouldn't you want to repierce something that already had a hole? I mean, if it were really really close to the original hole I know the two could merge together or something scary like that, but if it were a little distance off? I wish someone who had done this before would come along and tell us about it!
