Use them on all gauges of captive rings 5/8" or larger in diameter and for any diameter ring that is 8g or larger. Protect rings with a soft cloth to avoid scratching the finish on your jewelry.

"Handles bend"

Comments: It bent the handles trying to close a 4ga that wasn't open very wide. The description states for 8ga and larger. I wouldn't recommend this product because the return postage and restocking fee for this product is more than half the purchase price.
