brown ring around naval piercing |

hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me out here with some information. i got my naval pierced in early november of 2001. Well it occassional seeps out but not every day. I take really good care of it, but what is concerning me is that there is a brown ring around the top hole of the piercing. I am hoping that this isn't scarring and is a bruise instead. if anyone has experienced this or has any insight on this please email me. My email addie is darkmistress75@yahoo.com.
