URGENT have to remove tongue ring temporarilyrily |

I am going in for a one day surgery tommorrow and the hospital told me I have to remove my tongue ring. I had it done 4 months ago and have never removed it except to change it. My question and major concern is will it close if I have it out for a few hours? I love my tongue ring and would hate to have to get it repierced. Please advise ASAP. Thank you. |
