Subject:  Need HELP fast!!! What is wrong??? Navel...
Message:  I have had my navel pierced for 3 years. It was perfect for about a year and 1/2 or so. From then on I've had problems. First of all I was pierced with a 16 gauge hoop and have had the same hoop for 3 years. I've never changed it. Here is my prob...I have this reddish/pink fleshy piece of skin on the underside of my belly button where the piercing comes through. It looks like a piece of skin that didn't get cut off by the needle when I was pierced. It changes in size and sometimes it bleeds. I'm also able to move it around with a q-tip. Right now it hurts but it doesn't always. There is a whitish/yellow, thick, sticky substance that is always coming out of it and makes it crusty. It's not a keloid, I've read descriptions on here of what a keloid is and looks like etc. and this is not one. The weird thing is is that this didn't appear until about a year or so ago. I've tried everything...I've cleaned it with antibacterial soap, soaked it with sea salt and warm water, dabbed a little bit of peroxide on it, put a dab of neosporin on it. I've even tried just leaving it alone for a while but that just seems to make it worse. The peroxide seems to shrink it down a bit, but it never goes away. What the hell could this be? Can I just take out my piercing and let it heal up? After this experience, I never plan on getting another navel piercing!
