Subject:  Keloid from Naval Piercing
Message:  I have had my naval pierced for over three years and I completely forget I even have it the majority of the time. I went in today to replace the 3 year old ring with a jewelled barbell just to try something new. According to my piercer, my top pierced hole has moved down to the left about 1/4 of an inch and I've developed keloids. She couldn't insert any of the jewelled barbells I chose because she needed to stretch my piercing, but the keloids made it too painful. I have 2 options - 1)Let the keloids heal and try to stretch it soon after. I'll still have a crooked piercing. 2) Remove my piercing entirely to let the keloids heal. Then wait 6-12 months and 're-pierce' to position the top hole where it should be. I need advice on the best ways to treat a keloid, as well as if I should just 're-pierce' or work with what I already have.
