Please remember-
If you have a new piercing, try to avoid pools, lakes, rivers- any kind of swimming for six weeks. It is hard, I know, but bodies of water, especially public pools can harbour bacteria. If you must cool off, take a cool shower, or use running water like a sprinkler and shower off afterwards.
Sweat can irritate piercings, especially new ones. Take care to gently rinse your piercings if you are getting really sweaty, even if they are healed.
I just recently returned from the APP. I heard several piercers and others there stress that the name for single point piercings be: surface anchors as opposed to dermals. I believe, though I in no way speak for the APP or anything, that the reasoning is the latter might be mistaken for something medical as opposed to a piercing.
Just thought I'd mention it. My piercer is beating it into my head to refer to them as anchors or single point piercings and not dermals.

I've been hearing a fair bit recently about piercings catching and ripping. Here's a thread with some advice to minimize the occurrence of having a ripped piercing, and what to do if it happens to you.
1. Wait at least a month after the healing time to stretch a new piercing.
2. Only go up one gauge/size at a time.
3. It should never hurt or bleed. It may feel stretched or slightly tingly. There will be some sensation, but it should not be pain.
4. Always use ample lubrication. Water based is best, but some people prefer oil based.
Hi,
after having a Frenum piercing I am looking to get a PA as well. I had a look at a lot of pictures of PAs and the different positions they are placed at.
The best place I can think of is just below the glanse next to the frenum - but when I look there I see blood vessels all over the place. Thus, I think it would be kind of problematic to get pierced here.
What is your experience on this?
And do you have any suggestions regarding the position (links to pictures are welcome)?
Thanks for any kind of feedback.
Mike
Hi all!
I have been thinking of getting a PA for about two years and recently i have been dying to do it. I always wanted one because its the perfect suprise. I come off as such a good boy and innocent, i just wanted something to express the crazy side of me but with something subtle and tastefull. Its like the jack in the box.
If a person with lots of PDB's walks into a room, does anyone hear them?
I've read of, and hear a few times people mentioning they jingle a bit due to having their PDB jewelery ding together while walking, running, etc. but my question is does it really jingle when you walk/move around enough for someone to take notice or hear it? I would think that would be pretty embarrasing having to explain to someone where that mysterious jingling was coming from when they realize you are the one making the noise, lol.
"I'm not the freak, everyone else is simply wierd, ...i'm the normal one."
I am not sure if this question is in the right place but if it isn't I'm sure it will be moved but...
I gave myself a home frenum piercing about a week ago.....I used a large needle, not even sure which size actually.
When I say large, I guess that's misleading, It was about double the width of a normal earring spike....
So maybe 14-16 guage....probably 14.....it's a decent size,
or at least it felt like a decent size going in there!
Will I have problem finding a barbel for my new piercing? Right now I have a ring in there, but I plan to remove it this weekend, and put a barbel of somesort in there...
Hi, a friend of mine wants me to do a hip surface piercing on her and i have never performed the procedure. Could anyone possibly give me any insight as to how much room I should leave for swelling? Any insight would be greatly appreciated
