I decided to get my tongue pierced when I got my tax return because it was only S85. I really wanted a labret piercing but I know this would really get caught in my braces a lot.I went to the same place where I got my eyebrow pierced at (Cheap TRX), and I had the same piercer. The guy that sells the barbells told me to stick my tongue out to see if it was suitable (yes, it's suitable). Next, I was choosing a barbell, I chose a 14g. He told me that I should get a very long barbell with the piercing then change it after the healing process and if I bite on the balls I should get the material changed. I paid the S65 then waited a few minutes and then the piercer came and told us to follow him. I was in the same cold room as before(they like to keep it cold because people get really nervous). My mom left the room but her friend wanted to stay and watch. The piercer went over aftercare and my questions. I rinsed with some strong antiseptic, probably listerine but i'm not sure. He put some clean gloves on, told me to stick my tongue out, dried it, made his mark, then he told me to keep my tongue out and he took the sterile needle from its packaging, made sure it wasnt gonna hit any veins, clamped it and said, "breathe in, breathe out" next thing i know, poke. I thought it didn't go in because it didn't hurt at all. Then he says, "all done. I'm going to slide the jewelry in." He tightened the balls on the barbell which I can't even unloosen but if I try hard enough they'll come off (which is good). We we're all done and he told us to take care and call if we have any questions. He gave me a popsicle and right before i left i forgot to give him a tip so i went back and gave him S3.. Oops how rude of me :PI like my piercing but encourage people that have bad cleaning habits to not get their tongue pierced because theres a lot of aftercare involved.Even though you think people lie about their tongue piercing not hurting, it doesnt hurt. My eyebrow hurt more than this.It's a day after my piercing and i'm slightly swollen but the ibuprofen 800 mg is taking its toll too. I tried eating chicken noodle soup cooled off and grilled cheese. It didn't sting.Oh yeah one more thing, I have braces on both rows of teeth. No, the barbell doesnt get caught in the braces. I can talk very well with the piercing in due to my experience with orthodontic appliances being in my mouth 24/7 (spacer, retainer, etc..)
