Thats a bit off ... I don't read it, but it's hard not to flick through if there's a copy floating around. The bit that worried me is that it possible includes privately made stuff with consenting adults.

This is a continuation of the thread that FelineWolf posted a couple of weeks ago. This is a REALLY badly thought out and proposed law. It is a knee jerk reaction to a terrible murder, but a reaction that does not infact address the problem that sparked the outrage. This law is waaaaaaay to broad and all to easily encompasses totally innocent people who would NEVER have a murderous thought in their life. However what I can't understand, is that owning pictures/magazines with this sort of content will be illegal, but owning a copy of SAW, Hostel, etc WON'T be illegal. Now surely those films are just as violently graphic. The government REALLY needs to get it's act together, either make ALL this stuff illegal (I hope not) or make none of it illegal. Or at least tighten up the details so that innocent people aren't gonna be in trouble.

Well I hope you all realise this law is HAPPENING!
The final reading is April 30th and all that can happen is a few amendments made; the Lords that support our cause moved to remove this part of the law completely and were outvoted 2 to 1

So now that they lost the vote they aren't allowed to try to remove it again, they can only put forward ammendments, what they're going to try and do is add a clause that basically means you can only be prosecuted if you had reason to suspect that the acts pictures were not consensual, which I'm sure most of us would agree is fair enough.

But if we don't have enough Lords supporting us then this may go through without any of the ammendments and as of May 9th any of us could be prosecuted.

You must write letters and get Lords on side, we only have 5 days!

It's also useful writing to your local MP as the bill will have to go back through the House of Commons so the more of MPs we have on side the better.

Yes they will be able to print it, however if people don't get off their asses and start convincing the Lords that changes NEED to be made to this law then YOU will be put in prison for owning a copy.

If the law goes through in its current form then consent will count for bugger all.

Technically it's not just having copies of Bizarre that we should be worried about. But if I remember right, the definition that the law uses for violent pornography is :- any act that leaves a lasting/permanent mark or scar on the genitals or breasts. So this means ANY of us UK Tribers that have pics of genital piercings/mods will be CRIMINALS.

Well, in a way that's what this is! Once you've looked at it it is stored on your computer history, hence you now "possess" it, so "extreme" body modifications, a video of some getting piercing or getting tattooed? Up to 3 years.

Well, the law is pretty much through.

The only defense is if YOU are one of the people pictured. Doesn't matter if it was your friend or partner and you know it was consensual, still equates to the same thing: 3 years behind bars.
