Posted on September 4, 2008, 1:15 pmThere is absolutely no excuse to ever use neosporin on a piercing or to suggest that someone else use it- If you look at the back of the tube it says DO NOT USE ON PUNCTURE WOUNDS- and that's what a piercing is! ALL piercings are puncture wounds! I have personally called neosporin and asked them about this, and they confirmed that their product is not ok for piercings. And for that matter, even if it were ok to use it on puncture wounds, the instructions clearly state that you are not to use the product for more than one week- and I've never seen anyone heal a piercing faster than 4 weeks, and even then its uncommon. It just going to show you- when all else fails: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!
