a month ago i had my rook pierced (18 guage) and i didn't even feel it...totally painless... it's my favorite of all my ear piercings and i highly recommend him!!!!!!!!!
OK, out of all the piercings I've recieved, this has to be the most painfull. I'm going to assume it was because it took the piercer 4 pushes to get the needed through the cart. It's been a few days now, and there hasn't been any swelling or blood, but the area around the actual piercing is a bit tender to the touch. I can't sleep on that side of my head (the left). I'm really happy with it though, and once I can get the batteries charged back up in the camera, I'll add a pic of it up here.
This is my third experience I have written for BME in the past.... 7 (or so)... months, and I have written about the piercing of my inner conch, and the piercing of tragus. A little about myself: my name is Andrew, though I am commonly referred to as "ATV" (Andrew the vegan). I have been vegan since 8th grade, and I am currently attending NW school of the arts in charlotte North Carolina, and I live in Huntersville (NC). I am gay.
ROOK piercing : easy and fun , felt like pressure , took 4ever for the piercer to get in the tiny bar that I started with , done at ? at the 1999 detroit motor city tattoo convention.FRENUM :felt like a quick zipper accident ! no big deal though, did it in front oabout 20 people at a party at my house , was so easy that I did another one below it 2 hours later. NIPPLES and EAR stretchings : NO MAN is complete with out them ....feel the burn !!
I have over 30 piercings above the neck, and out of all of them the thick cartilage areas such as the rook, snug, and anti-tragus all BURNNN!The initial poke of the needle is not bad, it's when you are almost through, and you can feel the tightness of the cartilage and then pop! It is finally through. The overwhelming releaf of the jewlery is finally there. ADDICTIONS ARE FUN...AND EAR WRENCHING IZ GOOD! one.
For years I had planned on getting an "original" piercing as soon as I got to college. For about five years, I wanted to get my Tragus done, but in the past two I decided it would be my rook. I'm a pretty paranoid person, and with a conservative doctor as a father, I wanted to make sure everything went very smoothly. I attend the University of Delaware, and had heard of a good place (August Moon) that was pretty close to campus. I read some information they had in a local music shop, and decided they would be worth checking out. They were very clean, and knowledgeable.
Well, after getting my industrial i wanted something new and was looking through some pics at a-1 tatoo in north kansas city and saw the rook and thought it was cool so i said Chris (my piercer) i want this. He said ok & went to get the stuff ready. He called me back and since i already the industrial he skipped over the care and cleaning since i already knew how. He marked the spot, had me take two deep breaths and on the second in it went, painfree i would say and only a little pinch when the barbell went in. its been 3 weeks and it only hurts after sleeping on it all night.
Well let's see, what to pierce next?
