Let me go ahead and warn you that it is verrrry painful and sore to sleep on.
Okay after saying that I'm going to add that he never cleaned it, and it got so infected that his ear was puffy all the way down to where your ear canal opening starts.
Looked terrrrrible b/c he didnt clean it and around the ring where an unhealthy scab was formed, it had scarred a big crater around the ring.
I think he finally took it out, but it was a nightmare.

I already have my lobes pierced, nipples, a PA and 2 scrotals. I'd been thinking about this helix piercing a lot lately...I just think it looks cool. I read up about it on Tribalectic and other sites, and there's a lot of horror stories out there about this piercing!
I originally got my ear pierced for the industrial bar, but one earring was irritating so I took it out, but I still have an earring in my helix. It is 14 gauge and I totally love it. I actually got it done in London during a study abroad program through school. It was hell the plane ride home, but the earrings (at the time) were worth it. I loved the shock factor that came along with it and many still don't believe I went off on my own and did it.
I pierced my own helix one day when i was bored. After about 3 days i had my girlfriend push a 14 gauge labret stud through the hole....that is painful considering i pierced it at a 20 gauge. I then gauged it up to a 10 about a month later. I jsut recently jumped up to a 6 and it has jsut finished the healing for the most part. it was painful, but worth it i love it.
Well... What can I say. This was my 10th peircing done, and it was a crazy thing to do. I wanted this done for a while now and I just did it!
I've now had my helix done twice and to tel you the truth the first one hure and the second one didn't. I really do lik these piercings and think they look cool. Both of mine were done by a gun and were fairly painless (compared to other ear piercings) The bad thing about this piercing is that it takes about 18 months to heal properly and a lump sometimes appears on the back, but if you want it done I say go for it!!
I got my helix pierced at a local tattoo shop for my 16th birthday. The exact date was February 12th. The day I went in to get it done, I actually wanted to get an industrial, but the lady there said that the cartilage at the bottom part of my ear wasn't strong enough, so I decided to just get a helix. The piercing was quick and virtually painless, and it was sort of funny watching how my facial expressions changed in the mirror when she pushed the needle through. Like I said, the piercing wasn't that bad - the hours and days after that were when I really started to feel the pain.
I got the topof my ear(helix) pierced about 2 weeks ago. The piercing itself didnt really hurt that bad, but when the jewlery was inserted it hurt worse. A week after i got it pierced (22g)i stretched it to a 14gauge. That hurt like hell. It hurt that whole day, but the next day it was just sore. Right now it is sore, but only when it is bumped or whatever. I recommend this piercing to everyone, it is sexy and it looks good.
Well they didnt hurt when I got them done but they do hurt if you sleep on them wrong but other than that there great and I think there very attractive:)
I pierced my helix about 2 months ago and it hurt some but not bad. i love it and its still just a little sore some nights when i sleep on it. i recommend getting it done.
