When: May 10, 2008
Where: Silver on the Mount; Hollywood, Florida
Piercing: Left Tragus
A tragus piercing is kind of a peek-a-boo
piercing for me. Its unassuming. Following
my very positive experience with Vince at
Silver on the Mount with my nipples, I decided
to stick with a good thing.
Saturday afternoon rolled around, I drove
over to Silver at the Mount and made my
request. Filled out the paperwork, my wait was for
maybe 10-15 minutes. This is one of the few
piercings, I have been jittery nervous about.
Whether this was based on the sound I thought
I had my tragus pierced about 10 years ago now when I was 17 I planned on getting my tongue done but my mum werent to happy so I said ok my lip she didnt like that either so I thought I would get my tragus pierced.
This was the 1st unusual ear piercing I had just had 5 standard lobes and a few upper cartilage piercings
I have had my tragus for a little over a year, but it was pierced incredibly far outward for a tragus piercing, so I've been debating for a while to get a horizontal double farther inward. Got bored and had the money so I decided to go ahead and get that along with another piercing.
i self pierced my tragus on my left ear last night. I used a safety pin, just pushed it through, didn't hurt at all, But it was really long and i couldn't close it so i took it out, and re-pierced it with another safety pin, that hurt a little bit, then that wouldn't close either so i took it out and pushed a earring post through, THAT HURT! with 2 pops! at first pop it was loud and scared me lol like. ......... POP! then more pushing POP! and it was through. it looks soo cute and now i have 2 matching traguses! im doing my conch next,
go for it traguses really don't hurt at all!
I'd wanted my tragus pierced for years, but was (naively) put off by the using of a needle. Anyway, my mate wanted a tattoo doing and she agreed to finally get it done if I got my tragus done. Deal. I didn't know of any piercers in the local area, so trawled the yellow pages until we found one that could fit in both the tattoo and the piercing - probably not the best sign.
I just got my right tragus pierced a few days ago. I was told by many, many people that it hurts a lot. I was a bit nervous, but my piercer is amazing and I trust her completely. I was shocked at the complete lack of pain. I felt her messing around with my ear, cleaning and what not. Then she told me to push a breath out, and I heard the "pop" from the cartialedge, and that was it. It didn't hurt while she did it, and I have no pain with it now.
I had both my traguses done back to back. I wasn't expecting too much pain, and for that, I'm blessed and cursed. Because if I'd known how bad it would hurt, I might not have done it, and when I felt it, I was shocked. It DOES hurt pretty bad, at least in my case, and it takes a bit longer to do, considering how thick the cartilage is there, but it heals quickly and is very easy to take care of. If you tend to bleed a lot, this is a piercing to be weary of, because I bled all over the table. But like I said, once they're in, you're happy.
I had my tragus done at a professional body piercing studio, and for about two weeks after I had no problems with it. I cleaned it, tried not to sleep on it, and so forth.
About 15 days after I got pierced, I woke up one morning with swelling and pain. I decided to soak it several times and wait for the infection/flare to clear up. Over the course of the day, the swelling became very painful and very pronounced. I got off work too late to go to the piercing studio for them to look at it, so I decided to go the next day, because I was in considerable pain.
had my vch done on my 18th bday. just didnt take. so i retired it after just a few months. so i was a little leary about getting something else done. it's kinda been my new "tradition" to get a new piercing for my birthday. did the tongue, nipples, and this year was something new.i wanted another pdb, but couldnt decide. i wanted to try an hch but didnt know if my anatomy was suited. so i went to my piercer to find out. well...i was set to go. (note that my first experience was NOT that great) however, once finally getting the placement marked properly...it was showtime.
