Just a couple of hours ago I went and got [finally] after serval weeks of saving up my industrial through the top not through my whole ear. I'd be thinking about this kind of piercing for along time. My bf wasn't too keen on the idea but I managed to push him into it. SO today I thought
it! I'm going to get it done since my last piercing, my invert navel I had done since july, I needed a change.
I would have to say my favorite and most unique piercing is definately my vertical industrial. I had seen it on a friend and fell in love with it. Already at that point I had my tongue pierced (no pain whatsoever, minimal swelling) and a tattoo on my foot (moderate to severe pain, but my tattoo is small, I have heard after a certain amount of time the area becomes numb, I was not so lucky) I went into the piercing studio very nervous, and very worried about the pain factor. Even though I don't have a low pain tolerance it was still on my mind.
I got this piercing for my birthday this one was a little painful but not as bad as it looks. i love it and i still have it.
This was my 18th b-day present I bought for myself. It did hurt -- there were four distinct bursts of pain -- but the last two (when the piercer put the actual jewelry in) were the worst. It bled a couple days after and was a little swollen and sore in the month or so following. Five months later one hole is completely healed and the other still excretes the usual white discharge now and then (healing time is 6-12 months for a 14g). I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is thinking of getting one; it looks great and isn't difficult to manage at all!
This was the least painful of my eleven piercings, but has since become my favourite.
The piercer is a good friend of mine who has done two of my facial piercings and put up with my needle-anxiety. But industrials aren't really all that common in Beijing, so while he'd done the nose and tongue piercings many times, this was to be his first industrial as well.
I got an industrial piercing back in Dec. while I was in New Zealand. I loved it and it seemed to be healing nicely. Well about 3 weeks ago the top hole started to get sore and kinda hurt. I thought it was from me rolling over on it while I was sleeping. Turned out the top hole was rejecting the piercing. It started to push it out and when I took a good look at the hole I noticed it was not in the same spot as where the guy that pierced it. I took it out and put a shorter barbell through the bottom. I'm going to let the top part heal and maybe try it again in a couple of months.
I got my left industrial pierced yesterday. I was with my friend Lacea and her mom Linda and Lacea wanted to get her ear pierced so we drove over to Atomic Tattoos. She was really nervous and I was really jealous, so Linda said I could get my ear pierced too. So I chose to get my industrial. So we went back into the room and me and Lacea are sitting there all nervous and our piercer TJ was trying to calm us down. He pierced the top first and it HURT. Im not gonna lie, it was painful. Then he took the needle out and put in the barbell, then pierced the 2nd lower hole.
I got my industrial done at a really clean piercing shop with my best friend, who got a surface piercing when we went to get my industrial. I filled in all the paperwork and the piercer sat me down in the chair, reassuring me that it wouldn't hurt. she marked my ear and opened the needle, which was huge! needles don't really bother me though, it's the pain that worries me. She pushed the needle through the top hole, but overkilled it and put the needle through another part of my ear, which started bleeding a lot. this hurt more than the actual piercing!

I got this done about a month ago. I have to say it hurt the worst out of all my piercings (although that probably varies from person to person). The piercer had me lay down and tilt my head to the right... she went through the outer cartilage first and then through the inner pinna (yeowza!!). My ear was extremely red, but I thought it looked wonderful! It's healing quite nicely and I'm in love with it
