I spent a long time thinking about getting a triangle: reading about them, looking at photos and working out whether I had the anatomy for it. That lead to the very amusing moment where my boyfriend walked in to find me sprawled on the bed with a ruler between my legs trying to get a measurement.

The first shop I asked said at said they didn't do triangles, just a principle thing. Fair enough"" I thought, but it wasn't terribly reassuring. So I rang Juke, who did my previous "down south" piercing, who immediately told me that not all women could get it. I went into see him, leaving friends downstairs in the milkshake bar. One was just in the town and decided to come with us, and the other wanted to get an ear piercing but was afraid to go to a piercing studio by himself.

Juke spent a long time deciding whether it could go ahead. There was plenty of room underneath the clitoral shaft, but he was concerned that the ring would be too close to the vagina, meaning sex would pull on the piercing and could cause tearing. There were quite a few questions about what happens during sex (which I couldn't answer), such as how stretchy I am and how much bigger things get when aroused. After a bit of joking about needing to take a notebook and micrometer to bed, Juke spent some time using his fingers to see how much space there was. We came to conclusion that he needs to have a dildo for "office work". He decided it could go ahead with strict instructions not to have sex for at least a month.

The local anathestic was doing it's thing whilst we talked, so once we were sure, the actual piecing was very quick and easy. It did hurt more that my hood, sharper and quicker than my ear piercings. My legs tried to snap together as I jumped. I realised afterwards that was why Juke was leaning most of his weight on my knees. I continued deep breathing (in through the nose, out through the mouth) while he put the jewellry in, and took my time about sitting up. He explained that he'd put an oversized ring in while it was healing, and I was to come back in a month so he could see it and put a new one in. I got the distinct impression that he mostly wanted to see how it was doing, which was nice. More strict instructions about no sex, no masturbation and the aftercare instructions. He gave me a mirror, I had a look and was very happy. Quite a lot of very red blood and he snatched away the paper I'd been lying on suspiciously quickly.

He said it would bleed for three or four days and would take longer to heal than my hood. I got warnings about urine stinging, and advice on food and drink that would lessen this. It didn't bleed, nor did peeing sting, but it was sore for a day or so, then itchy, stingy and very gooey for about two weeks after. It's been just over two weeks, and there is still lymph, but only a little. The ring twists when I put my legs together, so I'm thinking about going back earlier to talk to Juke.

It looks so very pretty. Really, really good. I've shown the boyfriend, who approved and wanted to play nearly as much as I wanted him to, but we restrained. The waiting for it to heal is nearly as bad as waiting for the day it was going to happen.
