Would like to change a nostril screw to a ring,...too soon?

I've had my nostril pierced since the 6th of febuary '08. I've had a screw in it, although I initially wanted a ring, but I thought it best to wait until its healed to change it to a ring because of the difficulties that can arise with rings and healing nostrils compaired to screws. My nostril's going on it's 7th month of healing, I think it's healed, it feels healed to me I think, if not on the verge of being fully healed, and I was thinking of scwitching my screw to a CBR at the end of August (which would be going into it's 8th month of healing). Would that be ok? Or is it still too soon? I'm not 100% sure, and I wouldn't want to screw up the wonderful healing it has been doing (bump-free so far!) by changing it to a ring if it's too soon. Feedback would be very helpful, thanks.

after 7 months, if you think it's healed, and are having no trouble, I think it would be okay to change. Be aware of two things:

Piercings really take a couple of years to "toughen up" completely, even after being "healed"

Also, a change of jewelry can upset a piercing at any stage, especially going from one style to another. Be prepared for flare ups and yes, bumps.

I say go for it. I mean you'll never know till ya try. If it feels like its healed, give it a try. But I also agree with Cloud, be prepared for it to go pissy quick and possible bumpage. Good luck and be gentle with it. Smiling

I thought i'd give a little update. I did end up changing it to a CBR (which was not an easy task to get in,lol) and have had it in for about 2 weeks now, and have had no problems what so ever uBiggrin So i'm super glad for that.

uCool2 Now I totally want to change to a CBR, too.Maybe Santa will bring me one for Christmas. I have been a good girl this year. uAngel

so i'm completely new to all of this.
what's a CBR?
i have a nostril screw in at the moment as well && am waiting to change it over to a ring...same thing?
