When its fully healed I would suggest just playing around with the jewelry...different sizes, styles, shapes...etc

larger gauges and balls on genital jewelry are better, imo. Sturdier, and they make more of an impact on sensation, provided they are properly sized and situated.

Whether it will make a difference to you, only you will be able to tell.

I find a larger gauge to be more comfy, and I actually find that it increases sensation for about a week after the stretch. I can't keep stretching, so I have it at 10 and go up to an eight for a week or two, downsize it and then do it all over again.

I also found that a larger gauge is more comfy.. 14 gauge and 12 gauge pinched when I had mine, but 10 gauge feels nice, although I need to get a shorter barbell with smaller balls in there..

I think it depends on the person. A properly fitted piece of jewelry to the particular anatomy is what a person needs. Be that big or small, it doesn't matter much. I get an insane amount of pleasure out of mine. It's 14ga with small cabochon-set gems. That's the perfect fit/jewelry for me. You can play around with different jewerly to find what you prefer.

I had a 14 gauge when I had mine. I really wish I'd had the opportunity to at least stretch once. I feel if I'd had different jewelry at a different size I probably would've helped the small amount of discomfort I did have.
