I am from Michigan and looking for a medical practitioner to split my tongue for me if you have any in mind let me know.

my only thought is that you need to kiss me when you get it done so i can see what its like will also give you an excuse to get your sweet butt over here mwa ha! HA HA MWA HA!!!

Tongue splitting is not a medical procedure, it's elective and cosmetic. Medical implies curative properties.

This is why tongue splitting is usually performed by body mod artists and not medical practitioners.

Sorry John I think you need to do a little more research. I have heard of quite a few people seeking out medical practitioners to do it rather than just some guy in a tattoo shop. Breast implants isn't a required medical procedure, but you still go to a dr. for it now dont you? I just want to make sure i will have it done properly and if anything was to go wrong I would have a dr. there to fix the problem.

Unless you find a Piercer who also just happens to be a physician (there are a few) you probably won't find a doctor to do it. You're the one who's "heard of quite a few people seeking blah blah..." Have you "heard" of anyone FINDING a medical practitioner to do a tongue split? If so, why not contact that doctor?

A Professional Piercer who also specializes in the more extreme body arts such as tongue splitting is not, "SOME GUY IN A TATTOO SHOP"! Why not seek out a Professional Body Art Technician with a good reputation who can show you HEALED photos of tongue splittings?

I just can't wrap my head around it, but for some reason I'm extremely offended by your question and statements. Is that you with the cheek spear? Do you know how to palpate for the Trigeminal Nerve branch? Who pushed that spear through? Did a doctor do it? WTF?

John I am sorry to offend you with my comment. I am not going to go round and round about this. I am wanting to get it done and I feel its my preference to have a practitioner do it. If that dosent go well with you too bad that is my right. As for the "spear" in my face LOL well nevermind cant we just be friends.

It's all good. Of course we can be friends. I hope you do find someone. I know an old master piercer from back in the day who lives in Michigan now and I'll ask him if he knows anyone. If you don't hear from me it's because I didn't get a good answer from him.

My piercer does it. I'm in Pittsburgh, Pa.. I don't know where you live, but he does splittings, dermal punches, implants etc.. He's very good. He won't just do those sort of procedures on anyone who walks in and asks for it though. I can get you the information if you'd like.

That would be great if you could give me some more of his info. I am from michigan and willing to travel.

I think I have found someone to do it. So I think I am gona get it done in early May. HURAH.

About a year & a half ago when I was getting my labret, I also had my piercer check my tongue for pierceablility (I have a scar running down the middle of it, from when I was a kid).
Joel my piercer agreed that piercing was not such a good idea piercing through the scar, but recommended splitting to me, the scar on my tongue follows where the incision would be made, meaning the split is already part done.

So since then I been thinking it over & thinking it over, discussing it with my wife, researching & thinking it over.

Iv now decided to have it done. Iv been back to discuss the procedure with Joel many times, I have seen the pictures from previous tongue splits that he has performed. & I'll be making a booking soon as I can save up the last of the money.

I am really excited about this, cant wait to do it

When I get it done I'll post back with my experience
