OK, so my artist told me not to swim with the fresh tat, but she didn't say how long for, it's about 10 days old now and healing well, is it ok to go swimming this evening?

If there's ANY scabbing, stay out of the water. "Wet Scabs" will pull out color.

Also, the sun KILLS tattoos in the first month or two.

Obviously I'm not a tattoo

Obviously I'm not a tattoo artist, nor an expert...

But I've always swam with fresh tattoos (even tho they tell you not too). And they all stayed just as bright as the one I got in winter (so I obviously wasn't swimming then).

Decided against it, tattoo

Decided against it, tattoo is still peeling a teensy bit and it is a chlorinated pool.
Tattoo is thankfully not getting any sun Smiling

I agree with Jlo, I wont swim unless my tat looks and feels healed. Oh,a nd in the summer I pay more attention to drown them in sunblock than I do myself at times.

usually tats take about 16-20 days to heal fully with me, i tend not to do anything to piss it off in that time.

It's never worth the risk--tattoos are there to stay. Always wait for them to heal thoroughly and always use yer sunblock. A few hours' fun isn't worth the risk of having to have a bit of your tattoo redone.
