TELL HIM!

I didn't, when I got mine done, and it didn't go over too well.

*IF* you're certain he likes the idea, then surprise him, but if you think there's any chance he won't like them, then definitely ask him about it.

I would rather be surprised! You should know your husband enough to know if it's something that he would be against.

I'd mention it to him that you're thinking about it. See his reaction. If it's waaaaaaaay positive, then go for it and surprise him. But don't just do it.

In total agreement with Phal here. I knew my my husband loved them so I just went after work one day and had them pierced. I would have never even thought about doing it if I wasn't sure he would like them though.

Well there are two ways of looking at this...
1). Guys are very teratorial, so personally I would hate to think my wife had been and had it done without me being able to go and experience it with her... A perfect example is she went for a pap smear the other day, which I totally dissagree with as they are invasive, but would have been a little better with the idea if I had known.. I will now not go near her,, might just be me!!
2). Some guys like the not knowing thing! so they can discover these things by accident or chance and this excites them..

Which categerie is your guy in?

Jeez, I can't beleive you just said that. They are possibly one of the least invasive diagnostic tests around.

I would say tell him, unless you're truly convinced he'll love them.

And even then, be very careful to tell him quickly afterwards. The last thing you'll want is a giant bear hug when everything's all tender!

OMGWTFBBQ?!?

Are you serious? We have pap smears yearly to ensure that our vaginas are in good health. Boo hoo that you didn't go. Husbands/boyfriends/FWBs/lovers are not invited to these things. She doesn't get in a tizzy when a doctor sticks his finger in your bum hole for YOUR tests. Get over it.

Posted on October 8, 2008, 8:49 am

Robinaero, are you for real????
I'm with Kitty and Gracie on this! HOW DARE YOU!!!
Aren't you the same guy who enquired about methods of 'persuading' your partner to have a genital piercing? For whose pleasure?
Your attitude is frankly outdated; and moreover potentially dangerous to your partner's health, physical and I suggest, emotional.
Have a word with yourself.
Then get over yourself.
Apologise to her for your arrogance;
and thank her for still putting up with your neanderthal attitude.

Have him go with and hold your hand while you are being pierced. The only surprise he needs is when you come from the clinic and say Hun, I'm pregnant.

WHAT THE HELL!!!!! How can you not understand pap smears and how important they are? They are no more invasive than your wife inserting her own tampon, except they take a slight swab sample, its over in less than 5 minutes.

Please explain yourself??

When we guys go to the doctor and he snaps on an exam glove and says bend over that is like a pap smear, a necessary test and I hope that robinero has it done. Both tests are the first line of defense against cancer.

Posted on October 9, 2008, 4:32 pm

Robinaero-My husband went with me when I got my VCH, and he was also with me for NUMEROUS obstetrician visits. He personally said there was NOTHING sexual about watching my male doctors stick their hands or diagnostic swabs in my vagina so I have no idea WTF would make you think it is your right to go with her to the GYNs office! I know my hubby would rather me go for yearly check-ups by myself than forego them just because he can't be there and later develop a problem! How self-centered!

Dude, try and at least spell correctly when you say something so idiotic. Spelling at a second grade level and spouting nonsense really just makes you come off as an imbecile. Or, a douchebag? Maybe both, an imbecilic douchebag?

Shame on me for not looking for the definition!
I actually googled the word earlier today because I wasn't sure how to spell it in a message I was sending.
Here are just a couple of the results I got.......

"The ref is always important but I uderstand why George would be motivated to make a comment about the ref but the way it came out made George look like a complete embassel.

He should have said the ref has a big job tonite.

and......
Oh yea Bush really work his ass off his whole life, especially those 15 years when he didn't work at all! Between the the time Bush Junior ran several oil companies into bankruptsy in Texas, (I think he ruined 3 of them that his dad gave him) in the 1970's, he than ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 1978. He literally did not work for the next 14 or 15 YEARS, it is unclear what exactly this embassel did everyday for all that time, it is known that he lived in the suberbs somewhere in Texas, and that he was often drunk, it is also rumeored that he did alot of coke then,, but wtf he did everyday when we woke up, who the hell knows; until he was given the job of 'owning' the Texas Rangers in the early 90's-in other words his family co-bought the team and let him do something useless there, considering a baseball team is the manager, ball club, coaching staff etc..he wasn't really working then either. He then became gov of texas and then president, which was ofcource just a result of him being GHW Bushes son.

It's clear having just now read these in their entirety this was not the source I should have used for correct spelling......

right. using a forum as a dictionary normally doesn't work out that well.

dictionary.com normally works as a better reference.

Anyhow, folks. Let's get back on topic because this train fell off the tracks about a mile back.

If it were my wife, I'd want

Posted on October 25, 2008, 2:06 pm

If it were my wife, I'd want her to tell me first. But it wouldn't bother me too much if she just surprised me with it, I suppose, but that's because I don't really dislike them to begin with, and in the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal. I'd say get his opinion on them in general and if he likes the concept and you'd like to surprise him with something you think he'd enjoy, do it like that. If he's unhappy with the result, you can take them out later!

Or, ask him about it directly while you're surprising him with something else, in stead Eye-wink . I hear that's a good approach, too! uAngel

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able, and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?
