My mom had the same problem,
Posted on October 7, 2008, 3:36 pmMy mom had the same problem, she just went to her piercer and he bent it for her to it was enough to get it off the side of her ear, but you couldn't tell it was bent. She's also got one bar that has like a little spiral in the middle, which works for her too.

With the help of an adaptor
Posted on October 7, 2008, 9:35 pmWith the help of an adaptor kit and a sledge hammer you can fit a big block Mopar into a Chevy Nova. So for a qualified piercer to make a barbell fit into your ear so it aligns with the holes should be no problem.

Back when I was young and
Posted on October 8, 2008, 12:41 pmBack when I was young and stupid I had mine done and the person who did mine also did not line the holes up right. I went to another professional who put in a PTFE bar. The flexibility of PTFE was enough to rid me of any problems. Its been fine since then.

i just ordered a PTFE bar!!
Posted on October 8, 2008, 1:34 pmi just ordered a PTFE bar!! Thanks for the ideas...i'm also going to go see if I can buy a steel bar that has the swirls in the middle and have a piercer bend it. Just because i would prefer to have steel, but at this point any bar is better then none!
