Ok, I've been thinking about getting an implant hopefully in my thigh. I've found/spoken a bit with the guy I want to do it: Simon a.k.a Captain Howdy but I'm relying alot on his judgement, so I want a slightly wider opinion.

Simon said he's worried about jeans rubbing and causing irritation: I was planning on wearing loose light clothing for the first few months, but would that be enough? Is rejection a danger even after the implant appears "healed"?

I also want the insertion scar away from the actual implant, because I'm worried the scar will spoil the asthetics. Is a long insertion pocket goin to make healing harder as well as actual insertion? [my dream set up would be implant midway between my knee and my hip with the insertion scar just below the knicker line].

There are some strong muscles there and the skin moves whilst walking - could that cause an issue?

I'd rather have teflon that silicone for the price, and if there is a long insertion pocket, that would be easier BUT i don't want to jepodise the success, or my leg.

This won't be happening for a few months yet for a number of reasons, but I want everything thought out perfectly!

Any ideas/suggestions/horror stories would be so helpful!

Just to clarify, you want a subdermal implant on the front part of your thigh or on your inner thigh? What kind of design do you want?

Front to outer, but I would be wiling to put it in my inner thigh if thats going to make healing better. Just another thing I need to remember to ask Simon about.

It's *hopefully* going to be a lower case delta (ther squirly one). I just tried googling for a piccy, and got lots of river deltas, delta goodram and the delta II submarine :s

That gave me the general impression that it depends alot on where, how and what of, which makes sense.

I trust this guy, but it would be nice to have back-ups. Oh well ^_^

Mostly thinking out loud at the moment, but would still like people's comments.

who contacted me a few days ago. I'm not sure I entirely trust him, since he found me, and his performace focusses on gore and shock, which is not what I want. He's expressed concern over the placement, which is incredibly reassuring (that he's not just going to cut me open and see!)

I understand his concerns: tight clothing could cause irration, and increase the possibilty of rejection (which is low normally), it would be above a big muscle which could cause migration, and the skin is thick, so low visibilty.

Thing is, I've accepted that fact that it'll "settle" for pretty much any placement, and low visibilty doesn't sound like such a bad thing. I don't want something glaringly obvious, but I can't bear the thought of having to point it out to have it noticed. I really like the thigh idea, but he hopefully knows what he's doing. So I'm thinking of other placements.

Samppa suggested arms (I have a tatto, and burns, and it's too obvious), or sternum. Closer to appropriate, but I don't wear low cut tops at all, and wouldn't want it above a normal neckline. I was thinking over the heart, but on the left ... or even lower, on the top of the breast. But then I won't be able to get it out for non-work related things without getting arrested.

I really liked the idea of a leg-based one: I'm feeling a tad top heavy, mod wise. Maybe smaller, and ankle-wise? (I'm generally a trouser person, so that could work, but then we're into movement territory again.)

*sigh* The body isn't really designed with nice flat, non muscley bits. Any suggestions would be nice Smiling Esecially the "I saw of a photo of someone who ..." ones.
