No big thing, we'll pay for
Posted on November 12, 2008, 4:24 pmNo big thing, we'll pay for it out of the trillion dollar debt raised by W. Or, we'll take it out of the CEO bonus checks paid for by the fiscally responsible right-wingers who pushed through the $700 million for banks. Or, we'll call the war in Iraq off a month early. Or, we'll eliminate tax loopholes which allow Exxon to skate by, paying virtually nothing while profits rise by 400%. If you stop thinking like a right winger, there are lots and lots of solutions to be found.

That's funny, because I didn't see anything particularly offensive about that.

QFT
I got an email from the DNC asking for $ to retire this debt. I'm sending a hundred bucks, and consider it a bargain.

I don't think he's thinking
Posted on November 12, 2008, 5:36 pmI don't think he's thinking like a right-winger, but I don't know if he is right-wing. I think he's thinking like any regular Joe the Plumber (I'm sorry, I had to say it somewhere). 15 million dollar debt with the amount the DNC was raking in? The amount his commercials cost per month? It goes on and on. But then, really, I'm sure if we tracked down where every dollar went for both parties you'd be less than impressed.

Posted on November 12, 2008, 6:11 pmKeep in mind that the DNC's funds aren't necessarily tied to Obama's campaign funds...

I agree. PDBSG simply said that if you open up your mind and look there are solutions to be found instead of pointing blame...or that is how I read it anyway.

Eh, I could see it from
Posted on November 12, 2008, 10:54 pmEh, I could see it from either side honestly.
And I find it hard to believe it would be interpreted as "not pointing blame" when the majority of his post was pointing blame at his least favorite politicians
I'm fairly positive it wasn't intended offensively in this instance, and most of his points were spot on.
Although, I don't think we can really justifiably point blame directly at one group of people for the economy being in the state it's in right now. This was a collaboration of cluster- fark-age.
Either way, this isn't really a time for anyone to be blaming anyone - we need to fix what's wrong and move the
on. $15 million, in the grand scheme of things, is just a drop in the bucket, honestly. For fu**'s sakes, Obama hasn't even been sworn in yet and he's already done more than a majority of our former presidents did in the downtime. It's a bad time to start condemning him already.

I can solve this real
Posted on November 13, 2008, 5:56 amI can solve this real quick.
He actually made a point of telling me that he was trying really hard to be involved in political discussions while muting his normally "passionate" tone. He was proud of it- I patted him on his grumpy old head and gave him a Scooby Snack.
So no offense meant.

I like his passionate self.
Posted on November 13, 2008, 6:39 amI like his passionate self. Liberals have been too nice, inoffensive, and reasonable for too long, and it has cost us dearly. We've tried to play by the rules while the other team played jungle ball. I say, get pissed, and stay pissed. It's what works.
And btw, if you look at the thread title here, and read the link, they have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Shooter was being deliberately snarky and provocative...the responses have been pretty low key, all things considered.

Well, that's the thing. I don't see much to get offended about. As I've stated before, you would have to be blind to not see how the Bush Administration has farked things up. All PDBsg listed is fact, plain and simple- and most Republicans admit to the fact that their party under the Bush admin. is not the party of their forefathers. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result each time. Quite obviously, poor decisions were made, and the country is suffering the consequences.
To the people (in general, not targeting) who ARE offended, I actually dare you to not be offended for one month. Or six. Work with Obama, give the man a chance. Most of us liberals are not anti-Republican people, we're anti-Bush and anti- Republican policy. Really, no offense meant personally. I'll sit down to dinner with you. I'll look out for your kids, and I'll collect your papers when you're out of town. We're all Americans, and we're all in this together. None of us know that Obama's totally right in his policies, we just know that Bush was wrong.

Jebus criminy.....look, one
Posted on November 15, 2008, 1:33 amJebus criminy.....look, one thing is blaringly obvious in the midst of all of this: TFF sincerely needs to remove the stick out of his/her/its ass.
If I had the least interest in offending conservative republicans, for example, trust me, the word "pedophile" would have worked its way in there somewhere. If I REALLY wanted to be offensive, I would have attacked many of what I see to be core hypocricies and flat out idiocies readily associated with the far right wing.
I was actually just trying to indicate that a person really might find new insights, even solutions, by setting aside old prejudices and mind sets. You know, it bothers me to be seen as a person on a biased rant or diatribe. In my day to day work, my job is to solve problems: physical ailments have no party affiliation.
I do find it difficult to remain open to right wing ideology, but I'll try...to a point.

Posted on November 15, 2008, 1:43 amThank you, sincerely, and this is a topic of great interest to me. You've probably seen me go off on CK about how I'm NOT a "nice" liberal. I don't like angry politics, but I sometimes wonder if that's the only way to be heard.
