after a year, if they no
Posted on December 2, 2008, 4:38 pmafter a year, if they no longer ooze--much--aren't usually sore, have no issues, and if there's a round, donut-like ring around the edges of the tunnel, you're pretty much healed.
Nipples can be deceiving though, because many people do find they lymph and crust a bit throughout the life of the piercings.

no, healing happens in
Posted on December 2, 2008, 7:09 pmno, healing happens in stages. There's an initial healing period, which for nipples is probably anywhere from 2-6 months, during which you should do sea salt soaks twice a day for as long as you can stand it. After that, just protect them, and keep them clean in the shower.
This assumes you are not having any particular issues with them. If they are acting up, get knocked around, etc.--you should keep on with stepped up aftercare during this period.
Also, remember that they tend to act up on a regular basis every month because of the menstrual cycle.

Posted on December 3, 2008, 10:04 amI find mine tend to ooze a little more lymph. I just keep doing the sss. I've also noticed since piercing my nips, they aren't as tender as they used to be be during my cycle, but I'm sure everyone is different.
