HELP! I have a monroe piercing and wear a bioflex stud that has the reverse thread cz post that basically pops right in. I was eating this evening and the next thing I know the plastic stud was in my mouth (apparently the back got caught on my tooth and pulled it through my lip - the cz post is very small, not much bigger than the post itself but i have never had a problem). Anyways, the plastic stud did not have the cz post in it nor was the post in my mouth. I am pretty sure it is stuck up inside my lip somewhere. What is crazy though is that I was able to stick another stud back in there thinking it would push the post out and it didnt. I tried to press my lip between my tongue and finger and am pretty sure I can feel it up in here but no matter what I tried I could not get it out. My husband said that if I dont get it cut out (which will probably result in me having to get another peircing which i dont want to do) that it could be dangerous. My friend told me to just leave it because she has been shot with bb's and they were all left in her skin! Please give me some good advice!

Erm. Safe to say it's NOT IN YOUR LIP if you already put the bar in...

The internally threaded posts are awesome, with metal. The soft plastic ones the threads wont hold up under pressure, they just wont.

Right, my guess is the end popped out of the bar, ripped the threading a little (meaning if you put another gem in that post it's gonna slip out again), and fell on the floor. You probably wont find it cause it's just too small. What you think you can feel in your lip is probably just the skin tunnel, which is the piercing itself.

I don't like those bars. They look cute, but I wore one in my lip piercing and it caught, the same as yours did, when I was eating... the whole thing, bar and gem pulled STRAIGHT THROUGH my piercing!!! It bled and hurt a few minutes, but was fine after, luckily.

I hope that is what happened, but I really feel something in there for sure. If it is in there, am I in danger if I just leave it and see if it works its way out, unless of course I get swelling or something and then I guess I will have the dr cut it out.

I really don't think at all it's still in your lip.

But if it somehow IS still in there then it'd just reject out anyways. It'd leave a nasty scar, but it's not worth worrying over at all.

If you can get another bar in the piercing that easily, I don't see how anything can be stuck in there.

Agreed. There's simply not room in there for a new barbll AND the old end too, without it being quite painful.

I doubt the end is in there. I agree you probably feel the fistula and are mistaking it for the gem.
A) It would have no place to go in your lip and
B)You would be able to see it in your lip

If by some miracle it did manage to become trapped in there, then your body will reject it out if it feels the need.
