Ok so me, my dad and my sister have been planning on getting a tattoo together for almost a year now. But in that time, I still can't figure out what I wanna get. The thing I had originally wanted was to get caricature of them looking silly, but I dont know how to get that done, would a tatttoo artist be able to draw caricature from a picture? I there some other place I can go to get it done and just bring it in to the tattoo artist?
I also thought of incorporating other ideas into it, like our lat name, Tilley, music, guitars, piercings, (things we are interested in) and maybe somewhere, have the newfoundland flag, as my dad is a newfie and me and my sister are half newfie.
Im out of idea but we are planning on getting the tattoo right after Christmas...ahh lol

And in the master’s chambers,
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can’t kill the beast

I like the idea of getting something symbolic of your family. Just make sure it's something you are going to want for the rest of your life. Are you really going to want a cartoon drawing of your family acting nuts on you for the rest of your life?

No judgment here. Smiling Maybe you do. It's just something to think about because tattoos are very permanent.

I love the idea of the flag surrounded by things symbolic of your family though. I think that's an awesome idea.

If I cannot go silently into that good night, then let me go loudly in a blaze of glory!!!

What if you got something

Posted on November 3, 2008, 9:13 pm

What if you got something with things you're all interested in? You mentioned a guitar, and music. Maybe something like that?

You could go to the artist who is going to do it and see if he/she could come up with something if you're still stumped. Smiling

Well my sister and my dad

Posted on November 4, 2008, 4:32 pm

Well my sister and my dad both play guitar and they are into music and stuff, but I dont play anything and im not really interested in it lol. I love music, and I listen to the same music they do, mostly Pink Floyd...they play that the most on guitar, and we all listen to it 90% of the time. But something with music notes would be cool. I have something in mind, and ive done a rough idea in Paint. Ill post it as soon as I get the time to load it on my webpage.

This is the idea I came up with. I want to get it as an armband. I wanna add maybe a guitar somewhere in there.

Oh and I also thought of doing something with this photo of the three of us at my cousin's wedding.

That armband idea is AWESOME!!! Laughing out loud

Really I love it.

Where it wraps around, where there is a gap where the music piece begins and ends, have the guitar there, upright and sort of on a slant. Smiling It'll be under or behind your arm and will really only be visible when your arm is raised, but I think it'd look great.

Looks good, but get a musician to have a look at it before you finalise an idea. That design has the equivalent of spelling mistakes, and every musician you see why try to hear it in their head, to see if they recognise it.

Only this, and nothing more.'

Ok, I never thought of that.

Ok, I never thought of that. Actually, a good idea would be to have a line from a Pink Floyd song there instead, that way it would have a little bit more meaning, without having something so obviously Pink floyd on there. (I think it's kinda silly to get a tattoo with a band name and such, same as getting a name of a girl/boyfriend)

Oh so true...I looked back at it, and realized that it doesn't have a time signature, and two of the measures have different counts...And F is the first sharp note...not E...
Well...from a musician's view...

Put clever signature line HERE.

actually, the main that thing that is bugging me is the D, C, and B all have their shafts backwards. The E/F# I was ignoring as due to the wave of the stave.

Now that's a good phrase, the wave of the stave.

Man, I'm ill. I'm goin g back to bed.

^^ Yup! I agree with both

^^ Yup!
I agree with both above.
The biggest annoyance for me was the 2.5 beats in the first bar and 4 in the last!
I'd def pick some music that meant something to me, or I liked though rather than random notes.
Let us know how you get on with it though!

Well, pa_dude...then again, depending on the time signature, it could be 5 beats in the first bar, and 8 beats in the last bar...
But then again, if it's some of the more contemporary music, who needs barlines?

Put clever signature line HERE.
