Oh, and does anyone know any

Lamb is good. Buffalo is
Posted on February 1, 2008, 9:38 amLamb is good. Buffalo is really tasty and is leaner than beef. I would stick mostly to the chicken, turkey, and fish for diet purposes, but you do need to shake it up a bit or you'll go absolutely mad and freak out and order a pizza one day.
You can eat just about anything if you keep portion size in mind. Steaks and hamburger don't have to be an absolute no-no as long as you are not eating a 16 oz steak or a massive cheeseburger with a big pile of bacon on it. Don't do it every day either, just to mix things up.
Congrats on dropping a size. That's even more satisfying than seeing the numbers on the scale drop.

)and they were loosE! And they were always tight on me. I was standing there pulling the waistband out, to see how loose it was LOL
And yesterday I put on a pair of my fave jeans to wear around my apartment while I was washing my laundry (They have a huge hole in the crotch so I cant wear em anywhere else
Buit yea, I was thinking maybe 2-3 times a week eating some other kind of meat like hamburger/steak/porkchops but I would defenitely make portions of it small. And I havnt eaten any pasta at all since and I heard your supposed to eat some, just small portions. Any input on this?

Keep the portion size right
Posted on February 1, 2008, 12:05 pmKeep the portion size right and you can do almost anything. Grilling is really awesome though, cause it's lots of flavor without drowning it in some kind of sauce. And spices are free calories.
You can also stuff your meat with veggies and fruit to give it flavor and keep it light. Either cutting a pocket to stuff or rolling a big piece of meat around things and then portion by slices.

Congrats! Dropping sizes is
Posted on February 1, 2008, 12:22 pmCongrats! Dropping sizes is way more satisfying than seeing weight drop on the scale. I've always said that I don't care how heavy I am... I just want to be comfortable with my size.
Anyway, when I was going crazy with dieting a few months back, I found a dinner I really liked... I would take a chicken breast, put 2 tablespoons of salsa on it, put it in a little foil pouch and then cook it at 350 for about 30 minutes. So good! And I only ate 1/2 of it, so there was always leftovers for a snack later or for lunch the next day. I ate it with whole wheat pasta or brown rice and some broccoli. Yum yum yum.
Steak and stuff is okay... I know you can get tired of turkey and chicken after a while. (I have never been tired of fish no matter how much I eat, so I can't relate there.
) Just have the beef and all that it in moderation. Once or twice a week maybe.
Protein servings should be no larger than the size of your palm. Carb servings should be about the size of your fist.
I have a great cookbook that has a ton of really healthy recipes in it (Asian Beef Stir Fry... Yuuuuuum!!!), and I would be more than happy to email you some recipes if you'd like. Or you can pick it up yourself... It's called Eating For Life. It's by Bill Phillips.

Thanks Myth! Ill check out
Posted on February 1, 2008, 12:27 pmThanks Myth! Ill check out that book. Yea I have this one meal I cook all the time. I take a chicken breast, put very low cal BBQ sauce on it (25 cals a tsp and I only use 1/2 tsp) spice with garlic powder and mrs dash and bake for 30 mins. Then make rice or a potato with it and california mix veggies. Sometimes I mix it with rice for a stir fry.

If you are already putting
Posted on February 1, 2008, 12:31 pmIf you are already putting something on it, try brown rice instead of white. It is much better for you. Also good with salsa.

If you don't like salsa, you
Posted on February 1, 2008, 12:32 pmIf you don't like salsa, you can buy a ton of different seasoning packets at the grocery store. I really like Montreal Chicken Seasoning (which I buy in bulk at Costco) if I'm not in the mood for the salsa chicken... Just keep an eye on your sodium intake and you should be fine.

If you like olives (I hate
Posted on February 1, 2008, 12:36 pmIf you like olives (I hate them) you could mix some into the rice with a little bit of feta cheese and oregano. It goes nicely with some grilled lamb and asparagus with a squeeze of lemon juice.
I'm making myself hungry here and I just ate lunch

You can also cook your rice
Posted on February 1, 2008, 8:23 pmYou can also cook your rice with chicken broth to punch up the flavor without adding a ton of calories with butter and other stuff.
Salsa makes an awesome substitute for salad dressing. Get a brand without sugar in it for lower calories and just as good of taste.

If you buy lamb shoulder
Posted on February 1, 2008, 11:01 pmIf you buy lamb shoulder chops they are not horribly expensive. Try this with ground beef. Crumble it as you cook it and when done put it in a container with red wine and let it soak for a minute or two then press the wine out of the meat. It removes the fat.

I was looking through some
Posted on February 4, 2008, 10:05 amI was looking through some old boxes just now. I found a pair of jeans I was gonna throw out cuz they were so small on me I thought I would never fit into them. They are a size 14 and when I started dieting, I was a 18-19. Well I had the urge to try them on, knowing they wouldnt fit but wondering if I could fit into them by summer time. As I was pulling them on, Im thinking, ok ill just see how much farther I have to go to wear them. I get them all the way up, pull them together, and they FIT! Size 14!
Now, I know different companies make different sizes, for example one 16 is smaller than another companies 16, but this still makes me happy that I can say I fit into a 14! Soon enough, I might not have to go to the plus size section anymore..since anything over 13 is in plus size.
Im happy
I feel like going clothes shopping now haha
Edit to add, my best friend was the one who convinced me to keep the jeans about a year and a half ago when I asked her if she wanted them or I was gonna throw em out. She said I might lose weight and be able to wear them. I was doubtful, and just threw em in a box. Im gonna have to thank her now!

I am a compulsive clothing
Posted on February 4, 2008, 1:12 pmI am a compulsive clothing shopper and try not to throw any out because of gaining/losing weight and it will keep me from buying more stuff to fill my closet.
Congrats on the loss!

Congrats!! Keep going!! I
Posted on February 5, 2008, 6:41 amCongrats!! Keep going!!
I have been on a diet for 2 weeks and have lost 5 pounds. I do get more pleasure out of dropping pants size than seeing weight drop on a scale though.. I still have 25 pounds to go, and I have stalled slightly, but I am getting back on track.
Keep going!!
