Posted on November 3, 2008, 9:40 amMy hands were clean had just washed my son which was lucky really coz it was so quick there wouldnt have been time to think about washing them.
Spoke to piercer she said pushing it back in was the best thing I coulda done and that I have kept it nice and clean.
She tape it done with sterile strips and told me to keep it on for 48 hours and then go back and see her.
She is new to microdermals (I was her 3rd dermal anchor) and she advised me well and I trust her 100% she is an excellent piercer but she also said it is good experience for her being new to the dermal implants which is cool I dont mind being an experiment lol!!!!
Its still very bruised and have to be careful when moving my hand dont want to dislodge it but we will see how it goes hope I dont lose it I love my little dermal

I would like to clarify a
Posted on November 5, 2008, 3:46 pmI would like to clarify a bit of terminology.
Custom Steel called their design "Micro Dermals".
Industrial Strength called their design, "Surface Anchors" in order to avoid the "medical" terminology.
Since the procedure of inserting the Anchors under the skin doesn't REQUIRE anything more than a piercing needle and a hemostat I think it's wise to avoid the medical terminology too.
The whole point to this jewelry is to avoid all the surgical procedures previously required for Transdermals...to make a single point piercing that any qualified Piercer could do without much risk.

Thanks for that so what is
Posted on November 6, 2008, 7:28 amThanks for that so what is the medical terminology for it then?
Also I had mine done with a dermal punch, hemostat and a needle, I am in England the process of dermal anchors is quite new here so I just refer to them as either dermal anchor or micro dermal (is this wrong them)?

There isn't a medical term.
Posted on November 6, 2008, 12:11 pmThere isn't a medical term. If you did want to describe it as a doctor would, it would probably be a "small foreign object protuding through the upper epidermis". the med students I know usually refer to them as "minor transdermal implants" since more than 50% is under the skin and the minor bit indicates size/depth.

Posted on November 28, 2008, 4:50 pmOk check it. Your only suppose to use either a needle or biopsy punch not both. This makes it very obvious your piercer isnt as good as you think she is. You're going to have to remove it probably.

Posted on November 30, 2008, 4:41 amWtf? If it's sitting flat and settles again, there doesn't have to be a reason to remove it. There could have been any number of reasons they used a punch and needle, maybe the needle helped pop the heel in, who knows.

Posted on November 30, 2008, 8:25 pmHey! I realize this post is pretty old, but the same thing happened to me, in August. My surface anchor is behind my ear, so I couldn't see to push it back in, and didn't have any instant reactions. The friend I was with and I just both washed our hands as much as we could and she popped it back in, and yeah, there was that *pop* sound for sure.
You might be happy to know that it's still there just the same as it was before I accidentally pulled it half out!
Also, the whole terminology thing is just that we have to call them "surface anchors" instead of microdermals to avoid the possibility of piercers getting in trouble for doing something they're not supposed to do because of just the language. I'm not sure if the same rules are around about it in England, but from now on, we should all just try to call them surface anchors and try to forget that microdermal word.

Also I had it done with a dermal punch and a needle for making the pocket for the anchor to go in.
and my piercer is excellent although she is new to doing microdermals I trust her 100%
