My eye doctor refused to
Posted on November 7, 2008, 5:34 pmMy eye doctor refused to prescribe them to me. She said even though it says you can wear them for 30 days its not good for your eyes, because it does not allow your eyes to "breathe" properly. She did not liek the fact I wear the ones I have for more then 10 hours.

I see. I was just reading up
Posted on November 7, 2008, 5:39 pmI see. I was just reading up on the studies done on these in 2001 when they were approved and it claims that at night/during the day because of the structure of them, I guess, it's like not wearing contacts because of the oxygen it lets in.
See I'm getting more and more skeptical. Looks like I'm buying new glasses sooner. I have trouble re-wearing my contacts for some reason. Maybe I'm allergic to the solution I use, or something.

If I can get through a full
Posted on November 7, 2008, 9:07 pmIf I can get through a full shift at work and my eyes aren't dried out with mine in, then I am lucky....but my rx is also really strange for lenses and its almost impossible to find soft lenses in my rx, so the ones I have are pretty darn good.
I wouldn't sweat it, I know a buttload of people who never take theirs out.

Posted on November 8, 2008, 5:18 amTheres a new type of contacts that you put in overnight and take out in the morning! You then have perfect eyesight for the whole day. Its mad! Google it. I think theyre worth a try.

Some people have problems
Posted on November 8, 2008, 5:31 amSome people have problems with the retina not being able to breathe (my mother did for instance), but I've worn 30 day lenses with no problems. Wear them for the 30 days, then go to your contact lens optician, express your concerns. There are number of tests they can do to monitor blood vessel growth and oxygen levels.
It sounds perfectly fine, your eyes will let you know if they're not happy. It doesn't hurt to go back to your opticians and confirm though. If you're on the sort of scheme I'm on, it's only £20 for a check outside of 6 monthly check ups.

I was told by my eye surgeon
Posted on November 8, 2008, 10:50 pmI was told by my eye surgeon that he would not prescribe contacts for me because I would never wear them. Google has a lot of good info, but they also have info that is about as far from true as some of the things that you have seen here on piercing care.

My husband and I both have
Posted on November 9, 2008, 4:29 pmMy husband and I both have those that you wear for roughly 28-30 days. He leaves his in ALL the time, and I take mine out every night. I can't do that because mine get super dry. He doesn't have any problems at all so I say if they don't bother you leave them in as long as your eyes feel comfortable.

That's not entirely true, I
Posted on November 9, 2008, 5:19 pmThat's not entirely true, I can leave mine in all the time with little to no discomfort, but when I went to the eye doctor 2 times ago, they said there were small capillaries growing on my eyes, from wearing my contacts too long. They said if they got any worse, I would not be able to wear contacts anymore, and any worse than that I could have ulcers develop on my eyes, and never be able to wear them again. Needless to say I changed my habits and wore my glasses much more often.

Yeah, I decided to give my
Posted on November 9, 2008, 5:23 pmYeah, I decided to give my eyes a rest tonight. They felt great and then I tried to take them out. As soon as they were it was like my eyes caught on fire.
I guess I'm going blind for the next couple days/weeks until I can see my eye doctor. I'm not even going to bother with the stupid things anymore.

I wear contacts, but I
Posted on November 10, 2008, 8:56 amI wear contacts, but I cannot phantom wearing mine 30 days at a time without removing them.. I am too paranoid to keep them in all day and all night. I rarely wear them. I usually wear my glasses, but I will likely wear my contacts today when I go to work.. My eyes get dry somewhat also with my contacts in..
