I had ATT (Cingular) for 8
Posted on May 20, 2008, 7:46 pmI had ATT (Cingular) for 8 years. No problems. Always have reception.
As for getting service in your job, you would be hard pressed to find ANY phone that gets service other than in the front of the store because the thick cement walls and automatic doors tend to kick out everyone's signal.
Stay away from Sprint - very pricey.

Posted on May 20, 2008, 7:52 pmI have Verizon now and I'm very happy with my service. I recommend looking into employee discounts. Alot of services have deals with businesses that offer a discount to their employees. My Verizon discount is 17% off my bill.

I have att... Not too much
Posted on May 20, 2008, 8:41 pmI have att... Not too much in my area. You either have att or verizon. You can get sprint but it's got the worst service around here. Some companies will give you a 2 week test period to try it oyut before you buy... Might be worth checking into.
With att, my bf and I pay approx $130 a month for 700 shared minutes a month with rollover, free nights and weekends and mobile to mobile, unlimited internet for both and 200 texts each a month. Works out pretty well for us, we've had it about 5 months and have roughly 600 rollover minutes because the majority of what we use is night/weekend and mobile to mobile.
ETA: I get an employee discount as well, but it's only 10% off just the minutes and only my line, not my bf's. It ends up being like $3 or $4 a month.

Oh! Forgot to add check out
Posted on May 20, 2008, 8:48 pmOh! Forgot to add check out www.cnet.com. You can get reviews for cell phones and things like that.
Also, we got our phones through www.newegg.com. You can sign up for new service for att and t mobile there, and they give you a much better deal on the phones. Sometimes you can even get money back when you get a phone.

I like Tmobile so far. I get
Posted on May 20, 2008, 8:57 pmI like Tmobile so far. I get 600 minutes a month with unlimited nights and weekends and unlimited messaging. My only problem is that my phone quit on me and the warranty is up and I'm not eligible for my upgrade until August. I bought a crappy go-phone to get me through the next few months but I hate it so much. If it wasn't for the $200 early termination fee I'd consider switching just to get a better phone! I REALLY REALLY REALLY want a Pantech Duo but those are only offered through ATT for now. Unless I wanna pay way too much to get one unlocked. Guess I'm stuck waiting.

I have Verizon, and I love
Posted on May 20, 2008, 9:55 pmI have Verizon, and I love it. I have full service almost everywhere, even in really remote areas. If it's not full service, I usually have at least two bars. As a part of my plan, they have a deal where every two years I get a brand new phone for like $25 if I renew my contract.
Not sure of the cost... We have a family share plan, so that parents and I can smush the cost into one bill, so ours is probably more expensive than the standard plan, I'm sure. If there's a Verizon store nearby, you can always call them up and ask about the cost of their plans.
Also, I am pretty sure that with Verizon, you can talk to anyone on the network for free.
Good luck!

You are right about talking to other Verizon customers for free, Myth. And I love the New Every Two program.

Posted on May 21, 2008, 5:32 amI've never had Sprint but I got to deal with the customer service people when I worked with cell phones.. The rudest people I've ever talked to. They were so bad I tried talking customers out of Sprint and tried talking them into one of the other two service plans.. it usually didn't work.

There will always be people
Posted on May 23, 2008, 2:43 amThere will always be people that hate certain companies for one reason or another. Some suck in some areas and are great in others. Personally, I would ask people in *your* area about coverage and such. I personally like Sprint, but when Grizzly needed to go to a town roughly an hour away, Sprint sucked in the way of coverage so you never know. I wouldn't base my decision on people states over, but people in your actual area
